Re: IRB Player of the Year Poll
Of course, it's not surprising. After the 2023 WC host poll went almost unanimously the way of Ireland, it's obvious a lot of voting on this thread would only serve to tell us who is not going to win the Player of the Year award anyway...

No need to translate your thoughts to us. Moronpork.
Personally I was just having a lighthearted dig. My own vote on the 2023 WC host was awry too, though not quite as awry as those who voted for Ireland (ie just about everybody).

Was the World Cup poll who we wanted to win not who thought would win?

Re: IRB Player of the Year Poll
Either or. Just like this one. You can vote according to your preference, or according to who you think will win. If you wish to clarify your position, feel free to comment on the thread. I see Itoje has now stormed into the lead as the votes flood in...

Re: IRB Player of the Year Poll
The final sentence from your opening post is ‘Anyway, register your preference in the poll’. So, you were asking who the poster would like to win not who they thought would win.

Re: IRB Player of the Year Poll
Well, you're a bit late, Mell. I mean, you can still vote on that poll if you want to, but it would be a bit pointless now, I think. So what's your preference here? Did you vote yet?

Re: IRB Player of the Year Poll
I’m not late. My point is that you made some childish aside that the board as a whole incorrectly guessed the 2023 host would be Ireland - whereas you told us they wouldn’t. I’ll point out at this point that you thought it would be either SA or Ireland. When actually you asked the posters who they would like to win and not who they thought would win.
Here, as it turns out, you are asking us both who we would like to win and who we think will win but with only one poll covering both questions. As they are two completely different questions it makes your poll entirely pointless.
Nevertheless, I have voted. I went for Itoje. Based on who I think deserves to win rather than who I think will win. No national bias - I thought Barrett was definitely the correct choice last year and I’d have Farrell bottom of the pile this year.

Re: IRB Player of the Year Poll
Dear me, Mell, is that what this is all about? It was a lighthearted remark on a rugby chat forum. Nothing to cry your eyes out over. In fact, what's really childish here is your own overly-defensive, serious idiot reaction to it. & didn't I already point out that my own vote was awry too? So do grow a skin, precious one. I also tend to credit people with the integrity to base their preferences on practical issues, such as benefits to the game, rather than merely ego and personal convenience. I evidently misjudged in your case, however.
I voted for Barrett because I think he is the best player in the world right now.

Re: IRB Player of the Year Poll
So given the dreadful track record of the majority of our inmates when it comes to polls, this is not looking good for Itoje...

No change, Itoje must be really sweating, knowing he's leading a poll on this forum!

& Barrett gets it! That's who I voted too for, although I really thought it would be Itoje.

Re: IRB Player of the Year Poll
Our girls win team of the year. Just reward for a tournament that produced a great final between NZ and England. Great choice.
