I'm torn between grand slam/4 wins and battling it out with Italy for the Wooden spoon.

England last year was my disappointment.

France was pretty bad as well. We did well to stay in touch on the scoreboard but game was akin watching one of those c*nt cats catch a mouse and play with and prolong the torture for a while longer.

Aye but since then we've had good results except Fiji. We are due another.

I still back our likely starting front row bit it's mental to be down 9 international front row options.
Fuck ‘em. Let them have their excuses if it comes to pass that we win. Will make great listening during the France-Ireland game and for some time after that, no doubt.

Can Toony not just take our lads on a few strenuous walks up Arthur’s seat instead of training them in contact? People dropping like flies all over the place.

Anyone see toony pulling a real surprise? I think wing is the most likely or Denton at 8 but those wouldn't be outrageous. Horne at 12 would only be a surprise is the others are fit

Surprise could be Kinghorn on the wing.

Off-topic, but this is a decent article.

Interesting read. I had no idea that Bhatti was part Indian - he certainly doesn't look it. I hadn't even realised that Bhatti was a Sikh name.

I think 8 will be the real position of interest and can't see too many other surprises except maybe the cover at 22/23 and one of the wing positions.

The front row picks itself but I'm incredibly worried that Toony will botch it and go for something insane.

Valid. I mean the question is which of these areas will he choose to go slightly mad with. I’m nervy enough without worrying him sticking Gilchrist at 8 or something ridiculous.

Big blow in the sense that he offered something a bit different from the other 3. Gilchrist is in fine form, it should be no bother.

BTW great article on Russell. Pulled it from another site. Tells us what we already suspected about Gatland's Lions debacle - quite amusing to hear the fans still crow on about 'drawing' a series that they lost on aggregate points.

Good article.

Here’s another one with Mike Blair preparing us for Laidlaw starting on Saturday.

Townsend and Blair would have to be fucking mental to start Laidlaw. Forget the fact he's not as good as Price and Finns tee kicking is fine, Laidlaw has played hee haw rugby for months and months and we play faster than he's ever been asked to.

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
