He seems like someone who might have benefitted from a sabbatical NZ style. Could they consider giving him time off until next season after the 6N?
He'd certainly be one of several I'd be standing down over the summer at the very least.

Im not convinced about Barclay as captain anymore, kinda feel that he never put his foot down and control the half backs instead of moaning about how it was going crap, i compalined about it but i didnt have a method to talk to the other 14 guys on the pitch to fix it

Well here’s an horrendously conflicted article about how Laidlaw will shape the attack.

Will we see a different Scotland this afternoon than last week? I bloody hope so or it'll be more of the same!
On the other hand, if Laidlaw manages to control the pace of the game, keeps France on the back foot, forces errors and kicks his goals - you'll be home and dry!
Simple, innit?

I'm not meaning the French team are bad people, merely for 80-90min they are the enemy ;-)

It really isn’t clear whether this is the plan or not, to just revert to winning by penalties but we certainly haven’t picked the pack for it.

Laidlaw can organise but he very rarely takes advantage of momentum and quick ball in the way I’d like. Today should be seen as a big test for him under Townsend.

Great wee play by Gilchrist and Gray.

Laidlaw fannying about at that ruck was nearly costly. Nice conversion.
