I've just spent an excellent 4-night break in Edinburgh and would like to see them in the top flight European competition next season - maybe playing Toulouse!

Indeed. What would have been the better bait, Lyon, Toulon or Nanterre?francoisfou wrote:Your wish may be granted.....but in the Challenge Cup !Adder wrote:I'd rather we get to travel to a place with rugby in its DNA, like Bordeaux....francoisfou wrote:Allez Edinburgh! Re: 1872 Cup Runners Up
Don’t want to be pessimistic about the day, but can’t help feel like we fucked it by not beating Ulster at home a few weeks back.
Looking at the team Munster are putting out, Ulster could well bonus point them, particularly if they play like they did against the Weeg. Couple that with the Weeg team that’s out today, it being a derby, and us only needing 1 point.... eeeeesh, it’s unpleasant.
It’s not helping that I was mixing dark and light spirits last night.

That fucking cross field kick by Weir that lost the bp try stands out.Edinburgh in Exile wrote:Don’t want to be pessimistic about the day, but can’t help feel like we fucked it by not beating Ulster at home a few weeks back.

I thought the dragons may do Edinburgh an extra favour today after that first half but they totally capitulated. Such a shite team.

Damn! The match isn't on BBC! Does anyone have an 'alternative' link?

Fair play Munster. No Conspiracy there. Defended like barstewards to get the draw at the end.Edinburgh in Exile wrote:Don’t want to be pessimistic about the day, but can’t help feel like we fucked it by not beating Ulster at home a few weeks back.

Did both teams take the piss with their team announcements?
Weeg seem to have Dunbar, Jones, Cummings late changes and Embra Rasolea and Harries.

Couple of bits of nice play from the weeg back line the difference at the moment.

Soft try. Horne fucked that. Nicely done by Ritchie though.
SHC looks a bit weary. We need Fowles on the pitch.

Both teams are very different to original lineout. Must have been a hell of a week.General Zod wrote:What happened with King Blairhorn? Great try!
Interesting game to watch.
Glasgows defence still worrying for the semi finals. A beautiful second try though.

Really high quality rugby on show from both teams. Can't fault either team much at all. Great watch so far.

BTW any report on the crowd yet? Looks a healthy size but they're deliberately not showing the East stand so it's impossible to call.

Was SHC injured? Cockerill's pre-planned Fowles on around 55 min changes are infuriating. It has happened many times when SHC is playing really well and takes the wind out of the sails a lot.

Re: 1872 Cup Runners Up
So far Fowles has knocked on off the base of a ruck under no pressure and in good position. And had his red zone kick charged down. A shame for Edinburgh and a shame for spectators as this has been a high quality, intense game thus far.

Brilliant decision making from both teams... err... until the 79th min when Glasgow are 5 points behind and chose to maul straight off the lineout against.... Edinburgh.... Christ. Why?
