Re: Wasps vs Exeter Saturday 2pm
Poor old Brad Shields is getting used to getting turfed off a plane from NZ and straight into an English team. At least he's not playing lock this week.

Too right. The other thread wasn't anywhere near colourful or busy enough.

Wuss were targeting Carr and succeeded unfortunately, meaning Shields had to be rushed in a bit.

This is usually a cracking game. Expect this to be close, but i have a feeling Exe may be a touch too strong up front.

Agreed. Exeter’s pack is such an experienced unit with not much drop off from the starters to the replacements. I’m slightly confused on Holmes though - I always thought he was a tighthead?

Shields has been in UK a couple of weeks.
Stronger scrummaging unit from Wasps but think Exe will still have too much

Anyone else's BT sport being totally useless recently?

Great finish from Cordero.
I watch through the app and it’s been fine. Watched Sarries v Newcastle on mum’s BT box and it was useless.

This is quite entertaining but so much frustration from all the errors - and that's as a neutral!

I like this ref but I don’t remember hearing is name before. Is he a newbie or am I being ignorant?

Think this was his 7th premiership game & I did think he kept it flowing and controlled wellMellsblue wrote:I like this ref but I don’t remember hearing is name before. Is he a newbie or am I being ignorant?

Yep. There was/is a bit of Barnes and JP Doyle to him. Doesn’t get flustered and plenty of clear decisions and communication.swindonbri wrote:Think this was his 7th premiership game & I did think he kept it flowing and controlled wellMellsblue wrote:I like this ref but I don’t remember hearing is name before. I thought the ref was first class.
Helped the game move along at a good clip. Some scrappy bits, but this was a step up from whats been televised so far. Both sides will be disappointed with the defensive return but there was much to enjoy.
The way Exe closed the game out to score at the end was brilliant.

Re: Wasps vs Exeter Saturday 2pm
Given the typical run of how Wasps games played out last season - score plenty and then balls it up by waving through a load of soft ties- was it too much to ask that we maybe put a bit of work in on defensive organisation?
Apparently so, and we used the time to work on flinging miss passes at every opportunity.
Well done Exe, and good game from the ref too.

Agreed about the ref. Not sure why Wasps gameplan was to constantly kick every bit of possession right back to Exeter. When we held onto the ball for a few phases gaps started to appear. Then we threw a crap pass. Exeter really are a machine once they get awarded that first pen.

Re: Wasps vs Exeter Saturday 2pm
I feel like I’ve seen that Wasps-Exeter game somewhere before...
Good game, 2 good teams. I feel Wasps need to be realistic and look at being in touching distance of top 4 come the second half of the season or so. They’re going to take a while to fully click, but they’re bedding in some serious players and have a handful of quality players still to feature.
Exeter on the other hand might be half decent when they get some of their locks back fit. Just add Lees, Hill, Dennis, Skinner for more than 10 minutes and Ewers to that driving and pick & go game....

Brad Shields has suffered a suspected fractured cheekbone, so could be out for a bit
