Some decent individual performances but a poor team performance.

Fuck. That was tough. Sheik looked absolutely fucking shattered after 9 minutes on the pitch. He’s got a great pass but they were just going from side to side with no thrust in the middle.

Really saw the limits of Edinburgh’s attack in that game, but Pyrgos and a few key mistakes in the forwards really cost them.

Yeah, couldn't tell if he was injured, lost in the pace of it, couldn't deal with the touchline-to-touchline style play in the last 10, but the fact nobody was stepping up to move the ball in his absence was also pretty telling.

Just returned from Murrayfield. Really frustrating! Edinburgh were definitely the best side, with our forwards dominating. Pyrgos was truly fucking terrible though. Service that makes Laidlaw look like Speedy Gonzalez, and some of the worst kicking I've seen in a while. The backs were good, but just didn't get the ball from 9-10.
Edinburgh are a good pair of halfbacks away from being a truly excellent side.

Oh, and as for the fucking ref! Some really odd decisions.

Hmm.. From the Television view, the Ref. & co. were as good as you`re going to get.

Mind you, dem Oirish boogers fornicate with the Laws at every opportunity.

Tight game and probably all turned on that reversed penalty call but cant really complain.
Edinnurgh need more than a forward pack and if they are going to rely on that pack they need to pay at a bit more pace.

Very winnable game that they blew

There may have been an adrenaline dump. I have seen it happen before to players who have featured little over a season and they come on and look sparky for a brief period and then look sluggish.

Shiel has been criminally underused this year.

Yeah I can’t remember seeing him feature in many big games before? Certainly not one like that, at such a tense time in the game. I’m not sure I’ve actually seen him before at all but his pass looks great.

I thought he did some nice things when he came on but did look sluggish. Definitely deserves more game time.

I thought he looked quite sharp at first at least. Was noticeable all game that no one filled in when the 9 wasnt there unless it was for a pick and go.

Jesus. Was clearly not paying enough attention to the Schoeman/Beirne penalty at the time. Undoubtedly a massive turning point in the game. What a fucking wanker.

Too late for a citing I guess.

Just listening to a BBC thing with them (all English people) chatting about the game and feel Edinburgh got very hard done by with a couple of incidents. Something with Connor Murray and Henry Pyrgos early on?

That was a strange one. Pyrgos hit the ball out of Murray's hands at the base of a scrum and conceded a penalty (fair enough). Murray picked up Pyrgos and dumped him on his back, during which Earls took a quick penalty and scored while all the forwards were still picking themselves up from the scrum.
1. No sanction on Murray for taking out Pyrgos off the ball.
2. Very unusual for a ref to allow a quick penalty following a scrum.

Neither of these incidents were in themselves outside of the parameters of a referee's discretion (although 1 was pushing it), however, both together must have left Glasgow feeling a little hard done by.

To be fair it would have seemed harsh to disallow the try for foul play. Just an incredibly stupid penas to give away - think the ref had even warned him.

Yeah, I think he had. I was juts initially surprised at the Ref allowing a quick penalty with the forwards still in the scrum. It’ pretty unusual, although it’s within his rights to do so.

I have seen them stopped from going quick if it was a scrum penas. Not sure if the fact it wasn't a scrum penas makes a difference.
