Great result, the whole team put in a performance. The only black mark was McKenzie's yellow. It was completely unnecessary and he should know better. On another day that could cost us.

Who is yet to come back?
Dell, berghan, Macinally, Nel, Gilchrist, toolis,Richie, Graham... Looks like they have a lot of depth up front. Backs aren't too bad either. I like the look of Sau

Edinburgh shaping up very well, but that blemish against Leinster needs to be addressed next time they play.

Interesting interview with Scott (who seems to be the one they put forward for these) saying that the more expansive style is despite cockers rather than because of him.

It's actually good coaching IMO. Giving the players ownership and listening to them is a good thing.switchskier wrote:Interesting interview with Scott (who seems to be the one they put forward for these) saying that the more expansive style is despite cockers rather than because of him.

Yeah, I agree. My one fear is that his instinct might be to regress to the limited gameplan once the biggest games come or they have a couple of poor performances.Big D wrote:It's actually good coaching IMO. With no Champions Cup, Edinburgh should be aiming for at least second in their pool.

Grim conditions but no excuse for some of the sloppiness. L/O was awful all night.Mikey Brown wrote:Just watched the 'highlights'. Grim stuff.

Some real spazzy handling/passing letting them down. Should be further ahead.

Marked reluctance to take easy 3's on multiple occasions. Showing dragons no respect and very clearly out for the bonus point when they should perhaps think about winning the game first, especially as we look so blunt in attack.

Bit crap, should be further ahead. What the fuck was that call from Clancy at the maul we'd have scored from? The maul was pouring forward

Well that was at least amusing. Painful game to watch though.
Wasn't Sau taken out without the ball before that?

Does Clancy not look at the chasers in front of the kicker? Nearly every time.

Re: 1872 Cup Champions
Well the way that ended rather summed up the game, kicked out on the full under no real pressure to blow it. Dragons are terrible, Edinburgh merely poor and blunt. That's a missed bonus point.
It's easier at the end of the game when players are tired, but we looked so much more dangerous for the 7 minutes that Shiel was on the pitch.

That was a slog. Shiel was lively in his short time on the pitch.

Re: 1872 Cup Champions
What’s the daft wee tune they play after a try? Can we look forward to some Scotland dance music this Spring?!
Re: 1872 Cup Champions
Team v Agen:
Hoyland, Sau, Johnstone, Taylor, Farndale, Hickey, Shiel; Bhatti, Fenton, Berghan, Thomson, Gilchrist, Barclay, Ritchie, Haining.
Replacements: Willemse, Sutherland, McCallum, Carmichael, Miller, Nutton, Baggott, Fife.
Looks quite callow. Like the back row (like even more that it's not the strongest they could put out).

Re: 1872 Cup Champions
Evidently prioritising the league this year, which I think makes sense. Not keen on Hoyland at full back and that is quite an experimental backline. Anyone got any idea who Nutton is?
Don't think that this is televised is it?
