Way better than Dream Theater although not really Prog Metal themselves, Rush were a massive influence on the likes of Dream Theater.

Geddy Lee's voice gets on my nerves and Lifeson is at best a plodder. Great drummer though. And no, they're not metal.

Light prog metal?? Rush used to sneak into the pages of Kerrang, so on the outer fringes of metal for me.

... but I confess I am no prog metal expert.

Mental guitar work at the early stages of that DT clip.

On the original question, no I don't think so. Tool could probably qualify; not really my thing but they're bloody good live.

Some Maiden could be classed as prog I suppose (but not the better stuff).

Tool are ace. Probably my favourite band, but I'd hesitate to call them prog, whereas DT definitely are. The new Maiden album is quite proggy tbf.
