Unbelievable from Ineos. Where have these performances come from?!?!? Looks like the USA are going to be this year’s whipping boys.

Ainslie + MercF1 = scary.
Not sure if those who hollowed out logs or covered willow rods with bullock hide quite had this in mind.
Surely NZ hold all the aces though..

Three days in and this has had everything. Different conditions on each day, a capsize and four wins for Ineos. Rita also looks genuinely quick.

Something is definitely up today. I can see the various team's bases from my office window. The Americans have been winning the "Who Can Hoist The Most Massive National Flag" competition (NZ probably 2nd, Italy close behind. UK, not being so crass, have opted for multiple, smaller flags) by hiring a huge fuck-off tower crane to dangle the old Stars 'n' Stripes from. Today, the crane is bare.

Maybe they need to flag to patch the massive hole in their boat? To be honest, I'm surprised no-one has done Sea Shanty parody about that capsize yet.

Turns out this sailing lark isn’t as much fun to watch when your team is getting humped. Difficult to see Ineos winning from here. Luna Rossa seem to have a slight edge with mind and machine. Only hope is Ainslie pulls off another of his miracles but seems unlikely.
All that said, I’m still like a young boy seeing his first super car whenever those boats get up on their foils.

Spithill has been nailing the starts and near flawless rounding the marks. Ineos go a bit Vauxhall Vivia on the roundings too often.

Well Auckland is back in lockdown until at least Wednesday (3 COVID cases have been discovered out of quarantine - all one family but one went to school...). Not sure how that will affect the racing.

Brown bread. Two really good skippers going at it. The Italian set up looks slick.

Bit of a kicking. Luna Rossa just too quick in the lighter winds. The first race got my hopes up but my optimism (lower level of pessimism) didn’t last long.
In the long term, Ratcliffe’s ideas for an F1 style season sound amazing.

It's a billionaires spunk fest. First, finance a space yacht, then start a company dedicated to space tourism. Then get some cosmetic surgery, dye your beard, and wear expensive sports jackets with no tie.

Rumors of Ineos paying for the next cup to be exclusively them v team NZ in the UK. Talk about trying to buy a trophy. Won't work if the national rugby teams are anything to go by.

They are such a pack of back stabbing rich fucks. Anything without the Italians in it is devalued.

Tell Sir Ben Aniseed that they can have it in the UK only if Dean Barker takes the helm....that fucker is cursed.

These boats were pretty cool, but we didn't see that much real racing, the final was probably the best of it. Hopefully whatever they come up with for the next one there is more participants, more passing, more penalties, drama. Forty something knots is all good and well, but it was just a little bit sterile.

U.K. official Challenger of Record:

https://emirates-team-new-zealand.ameri ... EPTED.html

Note:
‘The Defender and the Challenger of Record, will be investigating and agreeing a meaningful package of campaign cost reduction measures including measures to attract a higher number of Challengers and to assist with the establishment of new teams.’
Operation Buy A Trophy By Being A Back Stabbing Rich Fuck (OBATBBABSRF) seems to have capsized quicker than the Americans.

There will be a behind the scenes documentary for the next series. Not sure when the behind the scenes sport documentary market will be saturated but I’m looking forward to this.
