So the scrum was a penalty that could have gone either way, Toner was miles offside taking Hardie out of the game at a ruck before Sexton got the ball but that's the way it goes sometimes. It's just going to be a long old evening.

This ref legitimately doesn't give a crap.

Nothing going our way, same old pish creeping in and getting our balls ticked by an atrocious ref.

Referee must have been told to balance out the penalty count...

The other way that we look at it is that we're only 11 points down (as typing) with absolutely no ball and the ball just isn't bouncing our way. Just need to get to half-time now.
This commentator is doing my head in though. Not sure why that was good consistent multi-phase possession from Ireland whilst Scotland were going side to side. Also he really can't tell the difference between our props.

That was a quick half. Scotland need to up the ante in the second half, they're getting beaten up at the breakdown and not getting enough possession as a result.

8 points behind and I feel relived. Time to regroup and go again.

To be fair, Scottish people all look the same to English eyes.

You reckon the Irish guy would welcome being called English? Besides which calling our tighthead Scottish is a bit of stretch, wonderful though he is.
The Irish are great at taking the second man out before they even get to the ruck. Not sure how to combat that short of going for bigger hits and trying to hold more possession, not things that are easy to change at halftime. I suspect our best tactic may just be to give it to Hogg.

Good opening couple of minutes not entirely sure what they were trying to do in the run up to that knock on though...

And why did Weir throw an absolute bullet at a guy a few feet away from him? Visser didn't look happy.

How is that not obstruction by Payne?
Mind you commentator thinks it was a penalty against Visser, absolute nonsense.

Jesus christ... we've been darting out of the defensive line all first half.. the first time we do it in the second half it results in that...

Right, was going to wait until after the game. But what do we pay Matt Taylor for?
Our defence is consistently awful and appears to never counter act the opposition game plans. Awful.

It was "clever" apparently. But this all came from Ritchie flying out the defensive line like an amateur. I've been bitching about the ref plenty but we have been fucking rank. Get Horne on now and Strauss. We really need a ball carrier.
