I'm startled, tbh.

Went to bed last night amongst the smugness of the Remainians confident of victory. Woke up this morning with the sun shining down on the righteous. Although I voted Leave, I didn't think as a nation we would have the balls to do it. I like the bookies was wrong. The people have spoken so lets stop the bitching and whining, and crack on.

Any news on what is happening with the Euro? Could do with it falling in line with the pound really or my holiday is going to be more expensive that expected.

A little stunned and disappointed by this, but Cameron's announced his resignation apparently, so I guess that's the silver lining. Im not British but worked hard to get a British passport just so I could work in the EU. Ironically I haven't done so for more than a decade now, but it was always nice to have that option.

As fun as that would be to watch, I'm not sure it's the best thing for the UK in general at the mo. Will probably help pull the party to the right as said. Looks like a similar fate awaits Labour, with dissatisfaction with Corbyn's efforts (or perceived non-efforts) in the campaign. That's not very helpful either, might pull them back right if they go back down the Noo Labour Plastic Tory route.

On the plus side, bar some post-referendum interviews of smugness, Farage's raison d'etre has gone and he should disappear in a puff of smoke after a month or two.

Sharks are circling Corbyn. They'd be foolish to do so, this referendum has highlighted again the huge disconnect between Labours PMP's and grass root support.

pound is down against the euro, and its your fault! Its tanked against the dollar, now means we are down one place in the economy league table..overtaken by France.

One thing we must hope doesn't happen is our credit rating being downgraded, S and P are predicting that.

I don't see the appetite in another Scottish referendum, especially with the reasoning of the EU membership at the heart of it. If they want to join the EU as a new member then they'll have to abide by all the new member conditions including taking on the euro. I don't see that happening.

EU Presidents say, "Well if that's your attitude, you can fuck off now then."

Facebook page is unreadable. Full of hysteria and hyperbole. Another consequence of ramping up the fear I guess is that the aftermath (for either side) was always going to provoke an over reaction. Especially from Londoners. Some very sensible people with some highly outlandish gushings. I blame Diana Spencer.

The civil service wasn't exactly quiet before the purdah either. I don't think the remain side can complain about the lack of media support or publicity in general.

If there are 3 key critiques of the remain campaign that spring to mind:

They didn't sound like a unified team - the official leave campaign did. Key messages were maintained and they got through.
I don't think politicians fully grasped the concerns over immigration (right or wrong).
Their campaign was built solely on fear. where were the positives of remaining in the EU? They seemed to be drowned out by the politics of fear, including the proposed punishment budget.
