I suppose your hapless inability to understand punk and its subgenres like hardcore punk and anarcho-punk is hardly a surprise.
Jog on and listen to your inbred cousin-fucker music and your old, dead Europeans.

Regrettably the punk movement in New Zealand coincided with my youth and even ensnared a few of my friends, so I got a close-up view of that horror show, attending more than a few gigs and parties. And from what I could see these mixed-up weirdoes didn't even understand punk itself, beyond its obvious anarchistic, anti-establishment dogma. It occurred to me, for instance, that those who advocated disorder should not all dress basically the same, have basically the same weird hairdoes, behave basically the same way, and attempt to pass off basically the same inane racket as a music genre with any artistic merit. In fact, the degree of conformity within that particular community would have made a military general proud!

More of a behavioral study research project than hanging out

If that's the case, you should be able to identify that the Dead Kennedys are an early Hardcore Punk band, a subgenre of punk that emerged due to frustration with the kind of "punks" you're describing.

That would require more interest in the topic than I actually have. All I heard was an angry din that didn't resemble music in any recognizable form, demonstrated zero amount of talent, and featured lyrics an eight-year-old could've written.
It's a familiar argument, of course:
"What an awful song!"
"That's because you didn't understand it."
"What's to understand? It sounded horrible!"
"But you're not in touch with its deeper meaning."
" "

There is no deeper meaning to Nazi Punks Fuck Off other than Jello Biafra saying that Nazi Punks should kindly Fuck Off though.
It's even funnier when the person who posts

starts by throwing shade about how the punks in the 70s and 80s apparently "didn't understand it," as if said person were claiming to have a deeper understanding and appreciation of it than their contemporaries.

Time to unwind with some fine mellow jazz. GB before he went pop. The piano and guitar work is sublime...

Mostly myself. I bought a new Godin LG with Seymor Duncan pickups and it's now driving through my new Blackstar 30W amp with true Valve emulation and a pod X3 with a live 6 wah-wah.
Fulfilled a kiddie fantasy and walked into a music shop and bought what I wanted. It's quality.
The pod x3 live is a nightmare. It's going to be months until I understand it entirely.
It'll be fun though. Like when movie maker was new and we were learning to edit our home pornos.

Thats David Ruffin leading on My Girl.
He left the Temps in 69 to be replaced by Dennis, who is featured lead on this, one of their many classics.

Really? I didn't know anything about the members of the band, actually, not even the late Dennis Edwards, though My Girl was one of my favourite songs during my youth (a couple of decades after it was released, of course )
