No idea what vintage that is but exactly the same melody must've been used in about a thousand blues songs by now - only difference there was the bizarre rooster crowing in this one.

The song is a blues standard, a persistent folk theme in the genre. A Delta staple. Howling Wolf gave it the electric Chicago treatment in the early '60s, and the Stones picked up on that. Cue Delta going blues 101 for a wider audience.

1973 but sounds a decade or so older. Obviously a deep south gospel background to that, reminiscent of Sam Cooke and others.

Loads of versions of this classic but this one is a real treat. Bill's playing is so effortlessly inventive and subtle....

Back to some great driving 60s Soul. This is the kind of exciting, energy packed record that sadly went out of fashion in the 70s. Pity.....

After another awful week of UK and world politics its time for a bit of optimism.....

Enjoyed that. sort of funky gospel R & B early disco sound all rolled into one. Can't believe I'd never heard of these guys.
