Having a free weekend for all clubs during the 6N would be a good thing. I bet if they do reschedule everything to free up a weekend they'll plonk the PRC in it though.
Eh, I'd take that. No-one much cares about the PRC anyway, so it's not like it's important.
Puja
I prefer it being midweek as it forces the clubs to all treat it as a development competition. Move it to the weekend and there's always one club that feels the need to send the first team out against a bunch of kids and turn a game into a meaningless 80-0 hiding.
Wasps are 'definitely not in a position' to offer opportunities to Worcester Warriors players following the demise of their West Midlands rivals.
That was the sobering response from Wasps head coach Lee Blackett who admitted he is also unable to currently offer contract extensions to his own playing squad.

Apols if already posted, the times are reporting that the administrators have secured the land around Sixways to include in any purchase.

Fucking ace! Well done those lawyers!
Next step, hoping that a rusty nail and the balls of the owners will be included as an inherent part of the walls of Sixways.

Some agents are going to be agitating for Wasps players to sign deals elsewhere rather than hang on for an extension with a club that might may fold, and payers are going to be thinking about taking certainty over a flooded market.

It should basically be known within 10 days. Whilst players will be wanting to have plans in place, I can't imagine that talks aren't ongoing with Wasps, and that players wouldn't be willing to wait to see which way the wind is blowing.

Is there any particular big names coming up for renewal at Wasps?
Agents will have discussions now and I know moves seem to be agreed earlier and earlier but most happy Wasps players will wait at least 10 days. No need to hit the panic button just yet.

No idea, but it's normally about a third of the squad, so there's almost certainly going to be some.

Surely it’s salary cap out of the window time now. I think there also needs to be a central pot of money to pay for the squad fillers, particularly young EQP, to find places to play in the Champ and those Prem clubs who can’t afford to take on the wages

If that is true, the players going to France or where-ever will need to be careful about their release clauses.

‘Players forced to leave England will be eligible for international selection up to the end of the 2023 World Cup. To be selected for the 2024 Six Nations and beyond, those players would need to be back playing in England.’

6th 10 points off top so they are still in the race. Should think they are hopeful of picking up some new spectators and maybe sponsors to give them a boost for the future though. Unless Wasps arrange an en mass loan agreement which I feel is unlikely.

Wasps are dead. Christ, what a day. Even when I knew we were fucked, I didn't think it would be quite like this.

The entire playing staff has been made redundant as the opening act of the administrators. Wasn't expecting it to be that immediate.

I'm so sorry Peej. Can't imagine what it must feel like. Hopefully they can be rescued in some form as part of this restructuring and Premiership 2 thing that the RFU are pitching.

Brutal. And I think the ground /assets are in a separate holding company...so they are bu55ered as a club I'd think. Is that the same for Wuss, in the end?
Be a mad scramble for Willis J I'd think.

Not just JWillis either - West, Oghre, Barbeary, TWillis, Porter, Atkinson, Umaga, Spink, Kibirige - all young English talent that would fill several holes in several GP squads, and that's without considering the seasoned pros of Koch, Launchbury, Stooke, Bassett, et al. There surely must be some kind of salary cap exemption now.

Willis J will be the big one I'd think. Barbeary. TWillis, Koch next. The rest will have a scramble. Also Brad Shields.
and yes.

Sad day for rugby. Darkest times the sport has seen.
