Plenty of time for someone somewhere to review the footage.

Re: Saints vs Leicester
You mean someone who's ONLY job is to review the footage? Or someone else who HAS to tick the box saying that the footage has been viewed and found noncase to answer? Cos we know the guys with 1 job to do is absolutely fine to abandon his post; and the guy with the box to tick can just outright lie about itMellsblue wrote:Plenty of time for someone somewhere to review the footage.

Re: Saints vs Leicester
Saints have had a big drop in intensity coinciding with the extra man. Haven't even looked like taking advantage of the binning.

Winded! If it wasn't so serious I'd laugh.

Re: Saints vs Leicester
Cervical compression as as mode of injury for a "winding" is a new one on me.

Very happy with that after last week. Can't help feeling that a bonus point has gone begging though, intensity did drop off after half time.

Leicester's pack need a rocket. So passive in phase play...and really shit lineout 2 games running.
Much better from Saints, let's hope they don't have to get dicked before we see a good performance again. Lawes brilliant as per.

Yep, very much failed to press home the man advantage following the binning.Adam_P wrote:Very happy with that after last week. Can't help feeling that a bonus point has gone begging though, intensity did drop off after half time.

Can't help but think Ford will have been watching his back row over the last couple of weekends with a bit of despair considering how Louw has started the season at Bath.Timbo wrote:Leicester's pack need a rocket. So passive in phase play...and really shit lineout 2 games running.

Disgraceful and negligent that Ryan allowed to stay on. I wonder if the officials can suggest a HIA is conducted? Even if the on field officials missed it, surely the TMO would have seen the footage and could have raised his concern?
Saints turned it around today and looked a far better side, playing with real drive and energy. Pat on the back to the coaches and senior players who really delivered.
Tigers issues are up front, where, aside from a good scrum, they do look to be sorely lacking. Their back row was a long way 2nd best today and this is going to be a recurring failing I feel.

I don't think you'll ever get an official overruling the med staff. But we clearly can't trust the med staff to be honest, time for an independent medical team; too late to start punishing clubs, Matu'u was the last chance to do that (for free as it would have taken a hell of a points penalty to affect their anything at the time)

Re: Saints vs Leicester
That was dire from us. We appear to have gone backwards from what was already a pretty average performance against Bath. God knows what the coaches are doing, especially in the lineout where the issue was the lift and the timing every single time. We are making a sow's ear out of a silk purse and I have no idea how we're managing to look that bad with this quality of player.
On the flip side, Northampton put us away very well and were unlucky not to get the bonus point. Full marks to them for sorting their sh*t out.

Perhaps, the Itoje at 6 debate should simply cease with the shirt going to Lawes.Timbo wrote:Leicester's pack need a rocket. So passive in phase play...and really shit lineout 2 games running.

With Robshaw fit I'd imagine it is moot.

arf. Though not Ford's fault (bar he and Youngs dumb ass failed grubbers), Tigers were rank.bitts wrote:Expecting George Ford to rip Saints apart. He looks like he's got his running game back and Saints looked clueless against Loz last week.

er, well that's where he actually played when Itoje was wearing 6. But 'neither' is a better answer.Oakboy wrote:Perhaps, the Itoje at 6 debate should simply cease with the shirt going to Lawes.Timbo wrote:Leicester's pack need a rocket. Tigers have major problems 4-8, lack of quality. Back line may come together, but see 4-8.....

Re: Saints vs Leicester
I thought Lawes looked pretty good at 6, not convinced the lineout was the only reasoning as I don't think we'd be too scared of a youngs lineout to move out best player specifically for that... it's about freeing him up from locking to cause havoc wider in defence from set piece and phase play... plus, his running game has come on a level or two as well so we should be taking as much advantage of that as possible. He still has top ruck and maul skills to help in those situations when it's right, which it invariably is against you guys as you're always so good in that area! Although Horne didn't get much of a sniff in attack, we looked better defensively in midfield than we have done for a while..: whether that's him or the dents the forwards made I can't be sure but hope it continuesPuja wrote:Ludlam summarily dropped to the bench. Quelle surprise. Not entirely sure what Lawes at 6 is all about - it's not like our lineout's particularly threatening!
Hopefully that Tigers XXIII will play with some kind of cohesion this week after being introduced last weekend.

Re: Saints vs Leicester
I was expecting more from their locks than this, if not their back row. It is possible of course that Leicester have done more preseason gym work than most with a view to performing later in the season, and they'll start to come good in another 3 rounds, but much more of this and they'll be struggling for a top 4 spot, and maybe even top 6Banquo wrote:Tigers have major problems 4-8, lack of quality. I don't think looking competent against this Leicester back row should really be the benchmark...Oakboy wrote:Perhaps, the Itoje at 6 debate should simply cease with the shirt going to Lawes.Timbo wrote:Leicester's pack need a rocket.
