Mulipola and Polota-Nau are being very effective, added alot more bite to the pack.

Who's the one eyed West Country chap on five live sports extra coverage. I've got so much time for the chiefs but that guy is a bell

Re: Exeter vs Leicester Sunday 3 pm
tigers backs just can't do anything with the carries our forwards bring.
it's something when your 1 and 2 are your only forwards carriers.

Great second half from Chiefs- focused on ball retention and have adjusted their defence well. Tigers were too ponderous when camped on the Exeter line early in the second half- Youngs is too inaccurate and slow to make a decision in those positions.
Nowell has done excellently it has to be said. Forward Hill good on the turnover and Sam Hill very good on 12 basics in a game like this.

Nowell's footwork and power in close-quarters situations are great. If he had some real top end gas he would be an outstanding wing.Banquo wrote:Great second half from Chiefs- focused on ball retention and have adjusted their defence well. ..and was a better 1 on 1 defender. But his footwork and strength are impressive at club level.Spiffy wrote:Nowell's footwork and power in close-quarters situations are great. Theres a lot to like about Nowell. Today he showed his value in the close quarter exchanges, where his ability to make an extra 5/6 meters almost every time after contact is priceless, and by his constant searching for work.
Thought the 2 locks were excellent, Simmonds good off the bench and Sam Hill first rate.
Tigers competed well for 50 minutes but Exe showed they have the capacity to take their game up a notch and finished well on top.
Cowan-Dickie's injury the only disappointment but Yeandle is no mean replacement.

If Exeter's 9s could either put in a descent box kick or not fecking bother, then this is a side that could really do some damage.

It's not just better kicking from 9 Exeter need to progress, they could really use an openside but there's nothing in the AP that will obviously force them to changep/d wrote:If Exeter's 9s could either put in a descent box kick or not fecking bother, then this is a side that could really do some damage.

always likely if Exeter managed to hang onto the ball. They dropped it a lot in the first half, but as often happens playing into the wind, kept it better in the second.Digby wrote:Tigers were blowing hard in the 2nd half

..or the laws tbh. Though having Kvesic v Evans would have been great!Digby wrote:It's not just better kicking from 9 Exeter need to progress, they could really use an openside but there's nothing in the AP that will obviously force them to changep/d wrote:If Exeter's 9s could either put in a descent box kick or not fecking bother, then this is a side that could really do some damage.

Indeed. Slightly more effective than, say North, was on return from injury but not quite up to the level of Rhodes.Banquo wrote:ah, as in fit.p/d wrote:When he was injuredBanquo wrote: ...than?

So was it an old boy's set of teeth that flew out when Yeandle scored that had Austin crying with laughter?
