rowan wrote:Yes, even the Brady injury might be a ploy. They've done this before. Guaranteed he'll go out and have a great game against the Jags, and I don't really see how they can stop him. Main thing is the Pats' linemen. Just like rugby, American football is basically won up front, and the flashy guys out in the backfield are just finishing off their good work. Brady gets so much time it's easy for him to look good. Hope I'm wrong, but I think New England is already in the Super Bowl and it's only a question of who they face there - Eagles-Vikings being too close to call.
If there's any team designed to get pressure on the quarterback it's sacksonville. However I don't think that it will be enough purely because the patriots don't rely on their O line as much as other teams but rather on Brady's ability to make decisions and his quick release.

Well, my NFL viewing is restricted to the highlights reels of the playoffs these days, and it mostly looks like the Patriot's offensive line are just bullying their opponents, giving Brady time to run this way and that and ever make a break downfield himself when he fancies. I haven't taken a look at the stats on sacks, etc, however.
If they're good enough to play at World Cups, why not in between?

Just got underway & the Pats have the early 3-0 lead.

Update: Jags score the first TD. 3-7 2nd 1/4 :o

Update: Jags again!! 3-14 late 1st 1/2 :o :o

Update: Pats TD in the final minute of the 1st 1/2. 10-14. Dam!

HT 10-14: Jags are just one of 4 teams never to have played at the Super Bowl, and if they win here it will mean a new Super Bowl champion. Not sure when the last time two previously uncrowned teams have met in the Super Bowl but I'd hazard a guess and say it was last century...

Jacksonville D losing the plot here:

Early 2nd 1/2: Jags field goal. 10-17

upset on the cards. Jax defence outstanding, and they are keeping Brady off the park.

Brady's hand injury may have been worse that they thought. Offense not firing thus far. This would be a huge upset but it's the Pats in possession now in search of the equaliser. Long way to go...

Final 1/4. Jags still up 10-17. Hope it doesn't go to OT cos it's past my bed time already. Eagles-Vikings apparently follows almost straight after so I won't be watching that one live.

Update: Jags field goal. 10-20. Go Jacksonville!!

Defence doing a great job, and Bortles having a career game. Gronk out. Not sure its Brady's hand tbh.

Big turnover- momentum all w Jax

For sure. Team that scores next ought to win it.

What a great air game the Pats have - & what a bag of tricks! I've never seen a team play like this before. But they're still behind with 6 mins to play.

They are tremendous cos Jags defence is as well....and as said thrice, no Gronk.

Lol QB sneak for 2 yards from Brady! Jags defence now dropping like flies, fatigue I guess.

& there it is. Game-winning TD for the Pats. Heart-breaking for the Jags, who led for most of the game. 24-20 final minutes.

Just a prediction, which I made earlier. But you're right. Jags have destiny in their own hands right now, on a drive with 2 mins playing time remaining. That's certainly enough to score again. At least OT looks unlikely!
