Him and a fit Tuilagi outside Ford should be terrifying. Just need to sort out a 9 who can pass really.

Subbing your 9 after 20 minutes might be seen as a bit drastic but I don't think Youngs would be able to argue it was fair given his performance so far.

Absolute horseshit. No arms late hit.

Another experienced England international stepping up to the mark.
Cole is a very lucky boy there. Not sure what the hell the ref is on about, twisting himself all over the place to not use a card.
Seemingly it's not late as it's not open play, but Cole hitting him is okay as he thought it was open play?

The standard in reffing outside the top 3 refs is pretty shocking in the league.

So, if it's not “late” because it's not live - he's tackled someone without the ball…
Which is just plain wrong

Wonderful to see Hughes actually trying to smash it up rather than decelerating into contact, holding the ball in one hand and then standing still trying to fend people off.

Yes it was a bollocks decision.

Okay. Where's the ref's logic corkscrew going to take us here?
Edit: Well he's actually taken a straight forward view of it.

Hughes has impressed me with his willingness to pass as he's storming forward too
Something I've not seen from him before - but he's drawing in a player and then passing before contact

He ducks down.

He hits with the shoulder first, but that's different to no arms…
Can't really disagree with the decision if the aim is to protect players, first point of contact is full force to the head

I appreciate that we are as biased as each other, but neither of the things are even close to being true. At no point did he try to wrap his arms, and Taylor may be a shorty relatively but he certainly didn’t duck. Academic anyway.

Smith red card was rescinded for pretty much exactly the same thing.
