Hard to understand why a player who looks like becoming a fixture in the Wales team, possibly even captain, would make himself ineligible. Yes, obviously it's the money, but I'm sure he's not poorly paid at the moment. He should take a look at AWJs career and reflect.

I don't know why Cory hill needs to show Cardiff any loyalty, they did bin him originally before he went to the Dragons after all, without knowing his circumstances I am loathe to criticise him, there could be lots of different factors behind his decision, one being that as a player who has had a fair few injuries he may want to maximise his earning potential whilst he still can.Son of Mathonwy wrote:Hard to understand why a player who looks like becoming a fixture in the Wales team, possibly even captain, would make himself ineligible. Cory is 29, this is probably his last chance of a payday to secure his families future.
Good on him, it's a short career & his wages in Wales will never compare with what's on offer in Japan.

I don't disagree. I'm sure whatever the offer was its a good one to make him walk away like this. And he could still feature in the next RWC if thats what he wants to do. Its a shame because he isa good player, but few people stay in one role forever and its a short career.Numbers wrote:I don't know why Cory hill needs to show Cardiff any loyalty, they did bin him originally before he went to the Dragons after all, without knowing his circumstances I am loathe to criticise him, there could be lots of different factors behind his decision, one being that as a player who has had a fair few injuries he may want to maximise his earning potential whilst he still can.Son of Mathonwy wrote:Hard to understand why a player who looks like becoming a fixture in the Wales team, possibly even captain, would make himself ineligible.
