Back on my hobby horse of a yellow card for anyone who rubs/taps the head of the oppo after they’ve messed up. Earl, you’re a knob.
Amen to that!!
Farrell having a good game, but feck me Flats get ya nob out of ya hand.
I’d be good behind that pack and I had a couple of XL glasses of Merlot with lunch.
My favourite Flatman fanboying moment was the ‘I’d pick him for the Lions’ after 20 mins of club rugby behind a dominant pack. What a load of rubbish and that’s before you get to how well Ford and the Ireland 10 played in the 6N. Even Daly has looked like a world class 15 so far…
And then he went and missed the next 2 kicks…. Which Flats didn’t comment on

Is odd socks a thing this week? They had it at my dad's school and I note these teams are doing it.

I’ve no idea what you’re talking about.
Ben Earl has looked good when stationed at centre hasn’t he.

This is pathetic from Quins.
The sort of performance that makes you think there should be an option for the ref to just end the game, to save the risk of someone getting pointlessly injured.

How many times do you think Farrell has done anything other than just pass the ball to the first man outside him?
Yet we still get a massive wankfest from the comms team. Healey rightly picks out a number of players who have even better than him and gets chastised for not mentioning him.
P.S. abusing Tizard during the game was disgusting and pretty disgraceful considering how many mistakes he often makes. He’d never have the stones to do it to an Itoje or one of his mates. Would have loved to have seen Tizard turn around and smash him. Maybe he should just scream “fucking stupid” at him every time he misses a kick (which is a lot).

Dreadful no show from Quins. That will hurt.
Irrespective of their opponents shortcomings, Saracens were very good. Dan really looked the part.

Nah I just think he’s a petulant twat who plays the hard man and then goes off crying because of some mild online criticism.
Would be delighted to see a 20 stone man like Tizard whack him.

I'm surprised none have tried it, although a 17 stone SA centre tried it and ended up on his backside!
You think he's a petulant that but so many of his fellow professionals (oppositiin as well as teammates), coaches and refs like Nigel Owens don't see him like that!
And some of that online criticism was anything but 'mild'!

All his mates who came up with him think he’s great yes. I don’t really care what a rent a quote like Owens thinks.
I rarely hear much from any of the younger players about how great he is. I seem to recall Arundell fell out with him according to rumours.
As I say, there’s no way he says “fucking stupid” to Itoje, George or Daly. They are his mates and it just wouldn’t happen. It’s the young lad who gets the mouthful. Would love to see him say it back to him next time he butchers an overlap, kicks away the ball, throws an intercept or smashes someone in the head in a tackle.
They can’t though can they? Because he’s a senior player and captain. Plus if you say anything bad about him, his mates and his dad will all come out and tell you how disgraceful it is.

It does. One of the worst showings I have ever seen as a Quins fan. Truly embarrassing.

Yeah. Predictable too.
My personal favourite was when Farrell made a regulation pass to Tompkins who then dummied and made a break to create a try, yet Farrell still got all of the credit in the commentary. Quite bizarre.

Farrell had an armchair ride today because of the performance of that Sarries pack and the woeful Quins opposition. He didn't have to do much more than ship the ball on. He has always been on the bad tempered side of things and will not change. Some call it being competitive but it's usually a bit over the top, especially for a player of that age and experience, and is not good leadership.
If you had switched fly halves between those teams, Smith would have had a field day.

Wow, spineless performance form Quins. That will be causing some concerns for their coaching staff.

In the interests of balance, Farrell was pretty good and some of the passes he put in would've been receiving adulation on here from any other 10.
However, there is no excuse for shouting abuse at a teammate over a simple mistake.

I'm not sure it'll hurt that much. They did it to us at the stoop earlier in the season, and we still went into this weekend ahead of them. You can't really judge either team's players or seasons on their games against one another. Sarries are nowhere near that good, quins are nowhere near that bad.

That is always the problem with talking about Farrell - the constant press adulation he gets is so vastly beyond sensible that it's so easy to snap back the other way and go over the top in criticism as well.

Fair enough. I think most would agree, and the bar is not all that high. He has certainly done the job asked of him at Saracens, a successful, hard-nosed and pragmatic club that has started to play with some style only in the past couple of seasons, compared with their earlier grind-it-out approach. But that's a long way from getting unwarranted rave reviews from the adulating media for pretty ordinary, and often poor, performances at the international level for over a decade.
