Muir jumps out of that tackle, then de Glanville does a double roll and guess what it's a bath penalty of course
17-0 would be a fair half time score

Blair Murray will be furious he wasn't pulled up for that, almost identical to the one that got him a try chalked off in the 6N.
Bath do seem to have been hanging on a bit so far, a more clinical McGinty would have had another try for Bristol.
Glad the high tackle there wasn't a second yellow, would have been a very soft yellow. Thought Ridley got that one spot on.

I've not really rated Kloska that high previously but jeez is he having a cracking game for Bristol, him and Genge are almost like additional 8s in the loose and not giving anything away at scrum time.

Well Bath have come out like they've had a rocket up the backside at half time.

Both sides look like different teams compared to the first half

And IRRC, that's the 100th try in the Prem!

That's a penalty all day long. It's held up because Genge can't place the ball because Annett doesn't roll away. Should be a penalty and yellow card.

Dunno what's going on off the ball there, Bristol 7 and a couple of Baths

The ball wasn't even over the line to be held up, from the reversal of the 1st penalty it's been a home town performance

It's the only decision I've been annoyed by so far. Otherwise Ridley has been pretty decent.paddy no 11 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 9:28 pmThe ball wasn't even over the line to be held up, from the reversal of the 1st penalty it's been a home town performance

JvG needs him way sooner, and has a far less ready replacement

Ratouva could have given a few offloads instead of taking on another player time n again

Looks like Bath only needed to turn up for 20 mins though goal line defence stood up.
Apropos of no much, I hate the held up over the line drop out thing

I don't mind it because it generally stops the endless carries close to the line tedium. What annoys me is when players just flop all over a player close to the line and the ref just gives it help up. Make the players roll and get it back into the game.

Think it’s plain unjust. And doesn’t stop the tedious carries close to the line.

Scrum attacking ball as it used to be iirc. Unless somehow it was a maul held up. Pretty much as general play though obviously try line makes a difference.

Makes sense. I'd be interested in a trial for the scrum being 15m out. Still a good platform (scrum dependant) but you still have to attack instead of battering away from 5m again (and again and again)

Re: I've got a semi - Bath vs Brizzle Friday
I'm okay with the goal line drop out, and think it's preferable to the previous attacking 5m scrum - but I would agree that something somewhere inbetween would be better.
Personally, I'd probably go with defending 5m scrum - that way it's not a completely new thing for the one instance, but it still rewards the defence with a turn over, whilst the attack get to keep territory, and will usually end up with a lineout around the 20-30m out
