God, I'd forgotten about Gibbins. When is he fit again?

Hell of a pack and replacements. Not convinced that 15 and 14 are the best available & I thought Ross Ford was due back.
Should be enough to beat a depleted Munster.
Gilchrist, Marfo and R Jackson are in Italy BTW as cover BTW.

Who would you have instead? I think that Graham has just come back from three weeks with the sevens and Bryce is injured (though may be wrong on that). Fife at fullback should be a manageable risk, though the thought of anyone else going there does scare me.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Hell of a pack and replacements. There's also no obvious replacement for Hardie which is a bit of a concern given his injury record.
Other than that I have to admit I like the team. Should be a good time to play Munster, a result would really send a message to Ulster in that race for third.

Bryce was playing for the 7s too. Graham was excellent out there.

Re: 1872 Cup Runners Up
Well Cockerill seems to prefer Fife to Bryce at 15. I don't agree with that. I don't think Bryce should have been risked at a 7s tournament with Kinghorn away and involved with the big boys.
Edinburgh wing options just seem very underwhelming to me in general. Hoyland and Graham are the speedsters but are lacking in so many other areas.

Re: 1872 Cup Runners Up
2 observations so far.
Edinburgh wasteful with the ball in hand. They've had two meaningful visits to the Munster 22 and should have left with 10 points minimum.
Munster have just about made it to the edge of the Edinburgh 22 and left with 3. 3-0 is incredibly flattering for Munster.
Second... Whitehouse is Nigel mk2. He thinks the game is all about him - how many marginal calls has he pulled either team back for? Just let them play some f*cking rugby. Frustrating as a viewer.

Is Whitehouse for real? I swear I hear his whistle every 30 seconds. How are these guys meant to play the game? It's not exactly an niggly game or bad conditions...

Dull game this after a very good start by edinburgh. Thought the disallowed try was harsh and since then they have just kicked everything

I can't actually blame Edinburgh for kicking so much of it away. How do you build up phases if Whitehouse is blowing up every 30 seconds?

Was a lovely bit of play. Good speed by Duhan too, he cruised up to Fife. I enjoy his play. Rarely tackled 1st time.OptimisticJock wrote:Thank fuck for Fife.

3 broken tackles by Fife in the middle of the pitch. One on their 7.

That is a strange half. Both teams playing as if the conditions are a lot worse than they are.
Even that last move by munster was strange. Just because we are after 80 minutes doesn't mean you have to kick it out. You have the ball 5 metres inside your own half. Do something with it

4 Munster players swimming up the Edinburgh maul illegally in front of Whitehouse's face and he does nothing. Moron.

The way Edinburgh are playing I'd honestly hook one of the wingers for Weir. Get a bit more competitive at the kicking battle, better at fielding the ball in the air, hands can't be any worse and he will at least be able to kick some of the points that VDW is incapable of.

Which one are you talking about?hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Uh... his left arm was around his back... how is that an illegal tackle?
Down to 14 Edinburgh finally kept the ball in hand and was their best spell of the match. Could have walked in if they had spread it right earlier though
