Good for him. Good ambition. Would love to see a return of his early form, looks like he’s almost back to it as it is.

I actually think that Scarlets is a good move for him as long as they stick with the same brand of rugby. Davies will be first choice but their backup is off to Ospreys so he should get plenty of game time. Only worry is if he plays well enough to get back into the Scotland squad and the Scarlets get left with no one causing unhappiness all round. We need him to be coming into form just in time for the World Cup I reckon after a successful first season.

His kick for the try at the weekend was a thing of beauty and he still has loads of talent.

It does feel like he's been around ages but he broke through pretty young. He was 21 when he was capped by Scotland.

Yeah I figured they may seem him as backup goalkicker when HP is away with Wales and Patchell isn’t trusted even if he’s not selected. Might throw a spanner in the works if he gets called up.

Hopefully means he comes back without complications and is a bit fresher for the World Cup. Chance for someone to step up at international level though.

It’s welcome, but it looks like half a job. Why do they have stantions in the viewing line, and will it be all 4 sides?

Also, can’t see much corporate stuff, unless they’re using Murrayfield for that.

New team colours should make it easier to attract players from the Afrikaaner heartlands!

And for Irn Bru to sponsor!

Don't see the need for the rebranding tbh.

Great news about the stadium.

That stadium is on the list of shit I didn't think would ever happen in my life time.

Similar to the album Chinese democracy, and Duke Nukem Forever... hope it’s not as shite as they turned out to be.

Orange is a fucking pish colour.

New website makes it look like it’s more blue than orange - if those are the new shirts, I’m expecting a meltdown from some quarters!

Orange will definitely be in there. There are some tantrums being thrown already about the colour changes. I suppose some are justified when you've forked out a lot of ££ on Red and Black kit/ merchandise.

"Meanwhile, the club colours will return to the original palette of the Edinburgh district side when some of the city’s most celebrated rugby names traditionally played in blue and white.

The old red has been replaced with a burnt orange colour - inspired by the city’s volcanic beginnings at Castle Rock and Arthur’s Seat - to signify this new and exciting chapter for Edinburgh in the modern game."

Great news about the stadium but what the heck is that rebrand? Petrie showing what a potato he is. Wonder how much they had to shell out to a brand consultancy for that nonsense?

There is at least a reason behind the colours but like I say above I don't really see the need. Not enough to melt down

Consider this my meltdown.........

I don't like the new one, but loved the old one, including the colours,, money better spent on players.

Only thing I can think of is they thought the black was too similar to Glasgow. But they could have just gone with the Red & White. Orange and Blue combos are rarely a good idea. Irn Bru the only notable exception...

I see Orange as more of a Glasgow colour.
Didn't the buses use to be the same colour as the clockwork orange?

I guess marron/Bordeaux is too close to the national strip.

Orange isn’t a great colour for Glasgow, unless you want to polarise half the city.
