The Home shirt reminds me of edinburgh’s Volcanic heritage and lava and stuff like that.

If anybody wants to see the old Edinburgh shirts from some time in the 80s, they appear about halfway through this classic clip...

The young 10 signed from league has signed for Leeds (RL) for an undisclosed fee.

That is not good. Scotland are really short of options (ready or otherwise) at 10.

No, but if he makes a success of playing at every stop on the M62 and fancies a change, he can use the experience he’s already gained and will have at least some good memories of his time in Scotland.

Re: my above post on Lambie, it may well be a load of shit, as he has a knee injury at the moment. Perhaps it’s groundwork for after RWC if he fancies a move then - pretty sure he’s got some Scottish in him with that surname, so may fancy a stint in the old country!

I remember around the time he made his debut for SA there was talk about how he was SQ. I think it's through his grandparents, maybe even his Dad.

Shame as his peak was just before his injuries. Has been coming though and probably the right decision. The article is not clear where he is going to be coaching

Had an ultimately good career despite attempts to have him play THP.

Hope he does well at coaching.

Just heard it on the radio, sad to hear. Was a bit of a fan.

That’s a shame for Dickinson but not even slightly surprising.

Lamborghini doesn’t seem like a bad shout for Edinburgh does it? Were there any young, Scottish talents likely to push ahead of Weir or the their Saffa anyway? If he gets the team firing I think it would be good for everyone, assuming there’s any substance at all to this rumour.

Gutted about Dickinson - was looking forward to seeing how he responded to the increased competition when fit. Best of luck to him.

Lambo - yes please. If he’s not fit, get him on a pre-contract agreement and have R92 pay for the rehab.

Not a surprise about Dickinson but he had a pretty good career considering the way it started out. Here's hoping he doesn't have any issues from now on.

Lambie seems highly unlikely. Isn't it more likely that he was visiting the festival during the off-season?

Shame about McLennan but looks like his heart is in league. Is Baggot actually South African and not SQ'd? Anyone seen him play and know if he has game or not?

I honestly thought Dicko was essential to our chances in Japan. We have no standout LHP. Dicko definitely peaked on his return from Gloucester. Just a shame we saw so little of him due to injury.

Best of luck to him.

Team out for tomorrow. Looks quite strong. The most interesting thing is Scott at 12 with Johnstone at 13

The full team. A few new names in there and a few notable absentees (Graham, Fowles and Mckenzie). Mungo Mason is a great name for a rugby player. Can only assume his parents were big Blazing Saddles fans.

Brown
Jack Blain
Johnstone
Scott
VDM
Hickey
Kennedy

Schoeman
McInally
McCallum
Jamie Hodgson
Toolis
Ritchie
Watson
Mata

Replacements:
Sutherland, Cherry, Jack Stanley, Shiel, Fife, Taylor, Bennett, Socino, Dean, Baggott, Pyrgos, Nayalo, Mungo Mason, Hamilton, Hunter-Hill, Atkinson, Cecciarelli, Ford, Marfo
