I’m guessing that not many on here will give two hoots about the individuals, but we should all care about the principle here. Investigated for treason for daring to not agree with the President. This is incredibly dangerous and justifies Bidens mass pardons in advance.
He's appointed people who are quite happy for a coup to take place though, the market has put manners on him for now but sanity not coming anytime soonSon of Mathonwy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 6:35 pmAgreed.Sandydragon wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 3:44 pm And in case anyone was thinking that Trump wasn’t a real authoritarian:

I wonder if Trump will direct the SEC to investigate insider dealing from anyone connected to the White House this week.![]()
I do hope, if the USA ever returns to sanity, that sane president would put an end to presidential pardons once and for all. (Admittedly this would require an amendment to the constitution, so really would need a wholesale return to sanity from the US to get it passed.)
The constitution needs a huge rewrite. Maybe this is the shock needed but I doubt it.Son of Mathonwy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 6:35 pmAgreed.Sandydragon wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 3:44 pm And in case anyone was thinking that Trump wasn’t a real authoritarian:

They're claiming they aren't able to, which is laughable because presumably they're paying El Salvador to hold him.cashead wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 11:31 amNot seeing much beyond "I don't wanna."paddy no 11 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 10:45 am Have thay given any reason why the citizen sent to el Salvador incorrectly will not be returned???

Nope. There are some ballsy law firms on the case though. Welcome to the Terradome.paddy no 11 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 10:45 am Have thay given any reason why the citizen sent to el Salvador incorrectly will not be returned???

What exactly are the law firms planning on doing given that he's flat out ignored the Supreme Court saying to bring the guy back? His own, stacked and stuffed, Supreme Court voted unanimously that he had to undo the rendition, and he's shrugged his shoulders and said he's not going to.morepork wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 12:36 pmNope. Reshape the world in their image...They have rather glaring similarities to a group of extremists from the 1930s...paddy no 11 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 4:06 pmSo it's unlimited power time, like those project 2025 people wanted...........wtf is their end goal just make the uber rich white cabal even richer?Puja wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 3:40 pmWhat exactly are the law firms planning on doing given that he's flat out ignored the Supreme Court saying to bring the guy back? He hasn’t quite got the point of refusing to obey the court order, he’s just saying that he can’t. It’s all complete BS, but just about keeps him away from a constitutional crisis for the moment.Puja wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 3:40 pmWhat exactly are the law firms planning on doing given that he's flat out ignored the Supreme Court saying to bring the guy back? Working for free and pressuring the Supreme Court to uphold the constitutional judicial power of government in checking the excess of the executive branch. It's fucking ugly here people. Civil Rights Act MkII. From the street to the court, this is being fought tooth and nail.Puja wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 3:40 pmWhat exactly are the law firms planning on doing given that he's flat out ignored the Supreme Court saying to bring the guy back? So he'll eventually say no and gets some body to turn and not execute their role and basically he's emperor overnight......this is how it plays out?Sandydragon wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 5:24 pmHe hasn’t quite got the point of refusing to obey the court order, he’s just saying that he can’t. Maybe. Honestly don’t know. Weren’t not quite at constitutional crisis stage at the moment, he isn’t stating publicly that he will ignore a court order.paddy no 11 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 7:20 pmSo he'll eventually say no and gets some body to turn and not execute their role and basically he's emperor overnight......this is how it plays out?Sandydragon wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 5:24 pmHe hasn’t quite got the point of refusing to obey the court order, he’s just saying that he can’t. Will he decide that the courts can’t do much and public opinion is with him, so he might as well just ignore the judiciary? Dunno. I wouldn’t put it past him.
Is heavily armed public opinion with him? I should adopt your optimistic outlook given you are there but it looks brutal from the outsidemorepork wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 9:00 pmPublic opinion is not with him.Sandydragon wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 8:24 pmMaybe. Sorry. To be clear I was referring to his base. They seem to like the idea of alleged gang members being disappeared to El Salvador. Some will probably not care if he does defy the courts but some seem to regard the constitution as sacred and might not approve. Trump won’t give a toss about upsetting Democratspaddy no 11 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 9:22 pmIs heavily armed public opinion with him?
