There's also a quote from Toony
No, I asked him what he wanted and then said I’d get back to him, so we’re still to make that decision. I’ll be honest with you, we would like dry conditions, so if it’s dry conditions outside there’s no need to close the roof, if it’s not then let’s close the roof and let’s have a really good game. So we’ve been watching the weather forecasts very closely and we’ll have to make a decision in the next two days to inform them.

Just sort of occurred to me that Blair would have been at Newcastle as Harris was breaking through. He's still involved right?

Anyway, here's this.

I am in wales just now. A day at Caernarfon Castle (where the English send their chosen ones to lord it over the natives) and now staying down the coast off Ceredigion Bay. They are not their usual confident selves, but maybe they’re just being nice.

Anyway, am enjoying a Lagavulin 16 after trying their Penderyn peated. If anyone is coming down here, don’t even try that. It’s rougher than Gladys Pugh.

I’ve tried Penderyn, it’s the kind of whisky you drink with coke and ice. But only if you really, really have to.

Whats the Taff front row looking like? If J Welsh and Reid are as bad as I remember they'd lose a scrum against fresh air, so we might never know what Harris brings as the Taffs will be laughing all over our pack.

Still expecting Toony's brand of champagne rugby in the loose mind, so we might do well.

Bases covered.

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

It’s definitely a concern, but it’s not the only mode of restart.

Roof is now shut.

Can't see why we are that bothered about the scrum before the last World Cup Reid came on late and held the French and folk been calling for welsh for ages. Think the welsh are going to find it harder than they expect.

I did the Penderyn whisky "masterclass" last year at the distillery. As soon as the boot doing the class found out there was a Scot in the room she wouldn't shut up about how many awards they've apparently won. They also try and claim whisky was distilled in Wales centuries ago, despite the lack of any evidence. They'll be wearing kilts next........... ;)

Are you on the wind up Donny?

Reid is an excellent prop and was pushing Dicko for that 1 shirt not so long ago. The real question is form as he's been out for a while.

Welsh is also excellent and a superior scrummager to Fagerson. When I heard Nel was out I'd have started Welsh with Fagerson off the bench for impact. The real loss will be in the loose - carries and tackles that Fagerson would have otherwise made.

In my mind we're playing with our 2nd choice props and 1st choice hooker. My real worry is the cover on the bench. The scrum might struggle a bit as the Welsh are a decent unit but I don't envisage any domination.

They spell "whisky" correctly. That's the extent of my praise.

It would be nice if,

A) Scotland keep fifteen players on the pitch for the full eighty minutes.
B) Scottish replacements are decided by the Coaching team, not the Medical team.

Recent trends seem to indicate that the likelihood of A is just ahead of B.

Do people bet on this sort of thing ?

I assume the buzz, the chatter, the excitement... will all start after we get a famous away victory in Cardiff?

Dunno about anyone else but I’m hiding and staying quiet until we’re at least 7 tries ahead.

Haha. Ditto.

Am also hoping the 2010 replays during the warm up have a suitably motivating effect on our lads.

On that, seeing as I brought it up for criticism earlier, the WRU have said they are cutting out Thom’s injury. Fair play.

Aye, was wondering about that. I remember also watching Paterson on his hands and knees at FB while normal play was going on, and it seemed to take an age before he got any treatment. Uncomfortable watching.

That game was fucking horrible.

There are a few they could pick from if they wanted to reinforce the idea that we can play well, get ahead, but still totally fuck it up.

I still didn’t really believe we were winning last year until the ball went out.

I think I preferred it when you were criticising everything that cat did and calling him gash.

This lack of mocker God’s appeasement makes me feel uneasy.

He has seriously stepped up over the last 2 years. This season especially. Defence much better but still needs work.
