Absolutely I want them to go. The players will hold the Lions in the highest regards. By going it will show them they are equal or even better than those From other countries.

In VCs 1st tour he scattered the caps around a bit and this tour gives a chance to look at others where the players ahead are practically undroppable. Second row, wing, full back as examples.

I heard Shaun Edwards on the radio last night saying that one of the advantages England have is that, because of their depth, all of their players know that if they don't perform, they will be out of the next game. He didn't seem to see the irony that him and his boss had just picked exactly the same team yet again "to give them a chance to redeem themselves" despite all the fans calling for changes

I don't mind that appointment. He was never the problem with the England set up.

On this year alone I'd take Furlong, Stander, Murray, Sexton (lack of other options) and possibly Zebo & Henshaw. Not great.

I think that its really hard to judge this year. In some positions there are a lot of people who look good when their team is playing well but individually it's hard to point to that much they have done

To be honest having been quite optimistic about the form of the home nations after the first couple of rounds, I've really been brought down to earth over the past couple of rounds. My inclination now would be to use the Scots as the basis of the side and graft on a front row. That won't happen of course. The basis will be Wales and England with a few additions.

Back to back championships mean that England should provide the base. They have some fantastically gifted, athletic, players and the trick will be to enhance that by picking a squad that can get the most out of, for example, Joseph's ability to make the outside break.

That's absolutely fine with me. The Lions Tour is for the Welsh, Irish & English fans anyway. More to the point we have an awful lot to work on, I'd rather we had a full squad for the summer. Hogg will tour & we need to be developing Kinghorn to back him up anyway... him going off had more of an effect on the team than the yellow IMO. We will have a far better bench once Kinghorn is covering 10 & 15 and we need to get him blooded.

I played at noon and have been drinking ever since. What happened to b3nnet and hogg?

Bennett didn't look good and I think it's a real dull one.

Every team has had at least one game in which they looked clueless and at least one in which they looked like they could be the core of the Lions.

Yup. The talk of vast chasms between any of the teams has mostly been bollocks. England and Italy have the biggest gaps between them and anyone else but they're not enormous, that's about it.
