Re: Cricket fred
Great stuff, the kind of series you could only wish for.
Ever so slightly disappointed to see the Ashes going back to Aus, I felt the first 2 games were there for the taking for England, but then Aus fans would probs say the same about the last 2 games for them, so I guess fairs fair.
Absolutely love what Broad did in his final test. Love it.

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Great effort to square the series after going 2 down.

whilst the return didnt really reflect his bowling, he should think of retiring. This test especially was disappointing.

Just want to take a moment to appreciate this catch, which is special enough in its own right, but is made glorious by the player having composure enough to immediately go nonchalant, like she takes catches like that every day and so no need to celebrate. Top work.

Re: Cricket fred
It was quite the day of cricket and it was an honour to be there. van der Merwe’s c&b was also ridiculous and as for Harry Brooks’ assist for a catch on/over the boundary:

The man was unbelievable today.

If some numb nuts hadn’t run out the guy on 80 off 56 it could have been very ropey indeed.

Yeah, well done Afghanistan. Thats 2 very poor efforts out of 3 in this WC. Could do with finding some good form soon.

Re: Cricket fred
Our bowling imo is too poor to get much further (Curran and Woakes esp), and the batting has been collapsing too often. Apart from thatfivepointer wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 6:17 pm Yeah, well done Afghanistan. Thats 2 very poor efforts out of 3 in this WC. Could do with finding some good form soon.

Re: Cricket fred
Buttler's captaincy decisions have been questionable- batting second has worked on different surfaces before, but this is different gravy, Then again, we don't have a good enough attack- Rashid's aura has gone, Curran has lost the plot and Woakes is just a very average overseas bowler. The batting is too inconsistent- suspect Root needs a rest, and he is the glue; YJB has decided its time for his habitual bad form runfivepointer wrote: ↑Sat Oct 21, 2023 5:23 pm That was dreadful with bat and ball.

Eng now lie 10th. in a table of 10 teams so the only way is up.
Failing that, it will be the status quo.
