Before you respond, yes I know he’s been force fed his own arse in every single scrum this season.

Aye but in what I've seen he's been slightly less shite than Nel. So going on comparative form I'd start ZJRF.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Z Fagerson is most certainly not in form.

Re: AI Coming
The beeb articles description of the state ZJRF left that Saffa scrumhalf in after walking all over the top of him.
If they’re both playing gash I’d like to do what we can to preserve Fagerson, he always looks great throwing himself about off the bench.

Re: AI Coming
I will say it on any thread someone is prepared to listen. Hooker is a position of crisis for Scotland and we have missed a trick by not signing a project player in this area. It should have been number 1 priority and now the eligibility rules will be in place and it'll take 5 years from next season onwards.

Re: AI Coming
Despite the popular thought, Scotland haven't had that many pure project players like Bundee Aki signed so he could play for Ireland.
Not all uncapped players that sign deals are project players signed to qualify to play for us. No doubt the potential was thought about but Visser and Nel were the only 2 that were signed and immediately spoken about playing for Scotland rather than improving Embra/weeg.
Visser was.
Nel was.
CdP was signed firstly to improve Edinburgh after the SK went tits up. Started with a 2yr deal.
Strauss signed initially late in the day (september) after Ma'afu pulled out his deal.
Latterly we've had Burleigh and Bresler but them being eligible is a by product of staying at Edinburgh not because they were signed with international intentions IMO.

Du Preez started for Edinburgh. It's Wilson at 8.

No, I just thought Horne is playing very well and don't really want him at 12 vs Samoa.

Re: AI Coming
Rightly or wrongly I think if Russell can stand at all he is in the side. I really like Horne too but still can’t decide if he actually has at international level.
Not totally sure I understand the Samoa comment?
Bench selection is going to be really interesting. We have generally had one of the weakest sets of replacements of all top teams for a long time. We’ve very briefly had some good ones in the last year or so, but I fear this one will be down to the dregs.

Re: AI Coming
I'd be tempted to mix in a few new boys and allow JB and Dunbar another week before starting them. JB only recently over concussion and we need to see what our options at 12 look like and I don't see Dunbar as an international 13 anymore.
