Yeah created the foundations and then was moved aside for others us finish building the actual structure. Whether someone like Gatland could be a short term option to build structure to then move aside and let the Quins attacking nature flourish would be an interesting call.
Well that's certainly a flattering way of framing Gustard's time there. All I meant in that comparison was that he had a very different mindset to "the Quins way" TM. It might well be time the thinking at the club needs a good shake up though.

Gatland just feels like such an extreme pivot in the other direction, and my sense was that since Wales's golden generation faded (and he lost Edwards) that he hasn't had a whole lot of success anywhere?

Oh completely agree he's shown little to nothing since leaving Wales the first time and losing Edwards as his lieutenant. Would feel like a bit of desperation from Quins wouldn't it.

Ramm leaving Saints to go back to Aus with Western Force to chase the dream of getting into the 2027 RWC: https://archive.ph/I47TC

Leaves Saints a bit short at 15 given Furbank's exit - just Hendy and Freeman now?

Pater coming through. Hutchinson and Belleau can play there too.

Is Furbank confirmed?

Happy with that as it might mean Heward is staying at Bristol (I remain optimistic he can go unijured for more than a month).
Delighted that that rumour has been proven wrong - extends at Bath until 2028
https://www.bathrugby.com/content/de-gl ... -and-white
Tom Carr-Smith and Quinn Roux both extending for 1 more year.
IIRC that puts TCS and BvdL both finishing in 18 months, presumably the two of them fight for one spot, and the chance to take over from Spencer as and when.
Roux, just keeping him for as long as he feels able to carry on going - integral to Bath currently, and no obvious alternatives as a starting TH lock. Presumption would be that we'll look for someone willing to come along post-RWC. An ideal world would see Quinn and his replacement overlapping for a bit, even if "only" 6 months.

None of the extensions so far are likely to be on increased salaries (or at least, not above inflation)
