I just leave my Black Labrador in the front garden with the outside lights off. He wouldn't harm a fly but goes absolutely
ballistic when the front gate is opened. Keeps all the little scrotes away & if their parents come to complain I just say he
didn't attack anybody & it could have been worse as I have 2 more labs (yellow & chocolate) & a German Shepherd who probably
would have ate their little darlings

Point of order m'lud? Scotch is something Americans or perhaps Canadians drink. The people of Scotland are known as Scottish or Scots, but never Scotch.

Also people who refer to me as a thick Mick. The Micks are the Irish Guards. We Rangers are known as Paddies.
It doesn't bother me (on the internet at least) as i just assume they're trolling, which is often giving people too much credit.

That's fuck all. There's Christmas shite being sold already over here.

On a personal note my hate for the Reserves has intensified. There's also some self-hate in there as i sold out and became a STAB.

Once you get over your fear of America furthering it's imperialist agenda via the cultural export of Halloween, music videos and blue jeans, Halloween is actually kind of fun. People in my neighborhood really embrace it, with parents often dressing up with their kids, some homes handing out drinks to parents, it's become a kind of a neighborhood street party. And the kids of course love it.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, 1 decent Christmas film, you've forgotten Die Hard, Home Alone, Gremlins, Trading Places, Bad Santa and of course The Muppets Christmas Carol.

You live in a nursing home . Those drinks Nurse Cratchett gives you are laced with drugs making you believe you have both friends and neighbours .

I am claiming £5 from your allowances .

The rule of thumb here is if there are no Halloween decorations at the front of the house, that house is not participating, and those houses get passed over.

The children realise that most likely, inside that sad dark house, some lonely grumpy old man is picking his nose in his rocking chair, muttering angrily to himself about how children in his day weren't happy, he certainly never was, he never got candy, why should these little feckers get to be happy and have candy, if it was up to him, all kids would be banned .... etc, etc.

Yeah Candy. Sort that out. No "decorations" at my compound, but the fuckers enter regardless.

All enjoyable Christmas films, but not necessarily 'good', there is a difference

Candy is what it's called here. Britannia no longer rules, it doesn't get to dictate fashion, language, traditions etc to the colonies. Now stop your whining, go buy some candy, and get the fuck ready for Halloween already.

That may work when the parents are with the 'spawn of hell' but if they're on their own not a chance.
Also the one that really pisses me off is the teenagers in groups, not even including any pre-teens,
dong 'Trick or Treat'. Those I do set the Shepherd on.

In the same way that neither does the US. You want to follow US 'traditions' (though how a country less than 300yrs old
can have traditions I don't know) & practices go live there otherwise feck off trying to change ours

As the world becomes smaller, traditions from many countries are cross pollinated. There are big celebrations here for Chinese New Year, Diwali for example. Anyway, I'm not suggesting you should celebrate Halloween if you don't want to, just that it can be fun.

Not sure who you think is trying to force you to support their traditions (Americans presumably?), but I'd suggest those kids knocking on your door are more likely neighborhood kids, they could of course be CIA plants.

Those neighbourhood kids are nothing but pre-diabetic confectionery sharks. Any traditional element of festivities is buried under the weight of cubic metres of plastic tat made by slave labour in China and chucked at the conclusion of this nonsense for the year into ever increasing piles of undegradable poison that will form part of the fossil record to remind future generations what cunts we were for participating in this outrage.

So you mean Porkys house then?

Halloween WAS fun until all the crap of trick or treat happened. Now it
Is just another commercial enterprise. Trick or treat is not fun, it is an
annoying piece of crap that should be banned and those who participate
charged with anti social behaviour.
And as for your last paragraph I'd still have the same response wherever
