There may well have been a forward pass, but with such huge dig legs in our defence a retirement home reserve XV could have got through.Wallpaperman wrote:Am with you re the tries, numbers. The second and third both looked like forward passes at the time (I was sober, honest !), but the issue was the ease with which France cut through the Welsh defence.
Big step up needed this weekend. Would like to see Francis at 3 and Rowlands in the second row. I like Wainwright, but would like to see Lewis-Hughes get a chance this weekend.

Le Roux has indeed been cited and will appear before the beak tomorrow (27th)

If Josh Adams had held his width and trusted Biggar to tackle Vakatawa then he could have tackled Thomas into touch without any problem ball and all, the second dog leg was from Tipuric jumping out of the line and failing to make the first up tackle, as he only makes about 1 mistake every four years this doesn't bother me greatly.Sandydragon wrote:There may well have been a forward pass, but with such huge dig legs in our defence a retirement home reserve XV could have got through.Wallpaperman wrote:Am with you re the tries, numbers. The pictures don't look good, I expect 8 weeks minimum, maybe reduced if he has a clean disciplinary record prior to this.francoisfou wrote:Le Roux has indeed been cited and will appear before the beak tomorrow (27th)

I've done a bit of digging and found that he got a lenient one-week suspension in November 2015 against the Scarlets for trampling on Phil John.Numbers wrote:The pictures don't look good, I expect 8 weeks minimum, maybe reduced if he has a clean disciplinary record prior to this.francoisfou wrote:Le Roux has indeed been cited and will appear before the beak tomorrow (27th)

Then in May 2019, he copped 6 weeks for a late tackle in a match against Stade Français.
So he's got some form which will go against him.

So tackling around the neck followed by forearm to the face is no longer a red card? Interesting judgement.Numbers wrote:Unbelievable.francoisfou wrote:Surprise, surprise, he gets off scot free!francoisfou wrote:

In the bigger picture of what's allowed at rucks I didn't think it was that bad, there was some force but not much. I wouldn't want to pick on that incident in isolation

As they landed somehow the right arm ended up inAWJs face. Totally accidentally of course despite the neck roll before hand which was no accident at all.
Strangely I’m not surprised by the outcome. But looking at some of the red cards which have been upheld, it’s not consistent.

Looked pretty nasty to me. I was expecting the TMO to call it then and there.

I did think Jones made it very clear something was happening and it's not the first time his acting has come to the fore, so there's that.Numbers wrote:What complete bollocks.Digby wrote:In the bigger picture of what's allowed at rucks I didn't think it was that bad, there was some force but not much. I wouldn't have minded had action been taken, if you give the ref a chance and he pings you it's your fault and it wasn't a nothing incident. And France have form for looking dominant against Wales and then doing something absurd to throw it away. Just there's plenty around the ruck I'd rather see tidied up before worrying about incidents like that.

Pretty blatant cheapshot - what did thee decision say he just happened to be falling that way?

Okay, let's leave minor incidents like headshots aside while we clear up more important issues.Digby wrote:I did think Jones made it very clear something was happening and it's not the first time his acting has come to the fore, so there's that.Numbers wrote:What complete bollocks.Digby wrote:In the bigger picture of what's allowed at rucks I didn't think it was that bad, there was some force but not much. It was an offence but not worthy of a red card. I haven’t read the judgement in full, one assumes that gravity was provided in mitigation.paddy no 11 wrote:Pretty blatant cheapshot - what did thee decision say he just happened to be falling that way?
