34-0. Lovely inter passing between Foxy and North for that try.
Bit confused myself over that one.Beasties wrote:What the hell with that disallowed try? There's no point evening up the Eng match now.
I always thought that if the arm carrying the ball touched down that was enough in that scenario. Many tries scored where the winger is carrying the ball under his arm are assumed to touch the ground even though the arm is still under the ball. Strange decision.Beasties wrote:I'm all for equal opportunities but maybe visual impairment isn't the best trait for a TMO?
Points can mean top prize.Sandydragon wrote:Yup. Keep the tempo up and put some points on the board.Sourdust wrote:Right-ho. Professional job done, BP in the bag, full respect shown.
Now let's get Sheedy et al on, and chuck it about a bit. 63-12 is more use to us than 39-0.
Remember the days of downward pressure? So many subjective calls back then.Beasties wrote:I think the issue is that the ball was down. Only two people in the stadium thought it wasn't. Maybe they wanted Adams to roll it about a bit so that the whole surface of the leather touched grass at some point?
Must be difficult if you have the BP before half time and you’re half thinking of keeping fit for the Paris game.Sandydragon wrote:Good job really as we have properly lost focus.
Bonus point win, large points difference and it looks like no injuries. That will do. Expected Wales would pull away in the last 20 but fair play to Italy for not letting their heads go downSandydragon wrote:Oh well, 48-7 the final result. Disappointing last 30 as we lost a focus, although we still scored two good tries in that period and had a perfectly good one disallowed. Biggest winning margin against Italy in the whole competition but no doubt our performance will be panned in the English press tomorrow.
The first half was total control kind and the game was won by the 20th minute.
I thought the game would go the other way round. Italy to come out all guns blazing for half an hour and then gradually slowing down as Wales turned the screw.Wallpaperman wrote:Bonus point win, large points difference and it looks like no injuries. Weird. Like the TMO knew Adams was holding the ball 1cm above the ground for several frames of that video. Surely a case of nothing obviously wrong with the grounding?Sandydragon wrote:I always thought that if the arm carrying the ball touched down that was enough in that scenario. Take the win and enjoy it. Remember the times when we’ve narrowly lost after a mistake like JD2’s kick toDaly to lose to England in the last minute in 2017.Sourdust wrote:Hmm.
I guess feeling rather flat about a 41pt away win is where you'd want to be.
I hope the PD doesn't come back to bite us, because let's be honest we left 15-20 points out there. The "finishers" didn't quite do the job, it felt a bit like one of those Gatland wins where we'd do enough and then treat the rest as tackling practice.
4 from 4 and I'm moaning. Just checked; still Welsh.
Pre tournament there was talk of today’s game being a wooden spoon decider, the 4 from 4 is very nice. I know what you man though, Wales looked good for 60 points after the LRZ score, and it was disjointed after that.Sourdust wrote:Hmm.

The sentimental ad for 150 years of England rugby followed by an erectile disfunction ad was a classic.Wallpaperman wrote:Pre tournament there was talk of today’s game being a wooden spoon decider, the 4 from 4 is very nice. A confusing set of adverts on ITV this afternoon, interspersing Guinness, and erectile dysfunction products. The circle of life.
