That is really painful viewing. I understand why the ref did that but it really should have been yellow for both of them.

Presumably Burkeigh will now get a ban because of this ridiculous idea that any red card offence also requires one. It's pape who should really be the nervous one right now. What a prick.

Cant seen them banning Burligh,

I feel a bit sorry for the ref, if that had been Barnes or Owens with a reputation then they would have given a penalty, reversed it for the simulation and then got on with it.

Unfortunately refs on the way up don't have that luxury and the ref was clear that according to the directives he had no choice,

I actually think Pape may get a longer ban than Burligh

The ref handled it as well as he could except maybe tell Pape to go for a HIA based on being knocked down. He really had no choice.

Pape is a coont for that but Burleigh was a twat for giving the him the chance.

Ha! What for, and where the fuck did they find that? I was pretty sure it was deleted by YouTube, or at least muted due to copywrite.

Like I said at the time Java, just be pleased I couldn't get the cadence right to put it to Toto. Last year would have been good for Africa.

It's classic in France to stir up the opposition so that you get punched in front of the ref. Usually the one milking those things is the Scrum half.

The more I watch this action the less I feel sorry for Burleigh. To be fair it wasn't a "friendly" slap but was actually quite hard(Of course it wouldn't have brought Pape to the ground). If you are ready to get involved in such petty rubbish, you should be ready to face the consequence. If Pape hadn't fallen to the floor, would the ref have noticed it?

2 week ban for Burleigh, reduced to 1 week for good behaviour and for saying "sowy"

I have no sympathy for Burleigh either but the bit about the ref not noticing is laughable. He was play acting as simple as that. We can say that without excusing Burleighs actions. If we were to be accepting Pape was right to take a dive we would then need to accept play acting for every potential bit of foul play and it's not on. Now there's video replay there's every chance they'd have picked it up.

He went down like he took a hook from a prime Mike Tyson.

Yeah I'm not very impressed with the diving either, just pointing that these "small actions" often get missed over a game.

A more powerful pack to start the game properly. Tovey at 10 will bring a different game as well. Hopefully SHC's confidence has been boosted.

Edinburgh should seriously say in the pre-match press conference that they are not aware of him having undergone any concussion protocol and question whether he should be playing.
