Wow, pretty deflating performance from the Ospreys yesterday. They could have done with Tipuric on the bench to salvage that one. They seemed to be operating at 70%... the forwards looked like they didn't have the stomach for 80 minutes of hard work or just unaccountably rusty after a few weeks off.

Much as Ive been singing the praises of Parry, Thornton and Cracknell, and to a lesser extent...Baker..they were poor last night (Baker made some good yards off a poor scrum but his handling was poor)

Ditto Habberfield although to be fair he did well enough given the platform he was provided by his pack..such slow ball.

Lets just hope its a one off melt down and they are back on it for the rest of the season.

Giles break in midfield was a thing of beauty and Sam Davies off load for the try also.

But...it was Treviso ...just not good enough overall

Terrible result to be fair. Good on treviso for their effort but ospreys should have enough depth to manage games like that. Hopefully a one off.

Couldn't even win with a Welsh ref!

How the hell did they lose that? Oh well, I suppose the focus is now the league, but after romping their group, it's a bit of an anti climax.

I would bemoan the fact that this wasn't televised but on second thoughts...

Refereeing was worse than ever. Stamp on the face only a yellow. Ospreys had a perfectly good try chalked off for a forward pass that was actually knocked back by an opponent , then were given a try that looked forward. Stade's final try was scored by a player miles offside having never retreated after a kick. Perfectly good Sam Davies pass to Giles 5m from line ruled forward. Etc.

Referee was uttetly useless.

I agree with LL that the refereeing was awful, however the Os were also awful in equal measure unforunately, they're sorely missing AWJ.

Firstly; that the Ospreys played a terrible tactical game, made crazy decisions throughout, lost their composure at critical moments, and didn't deserve to win.

Secondly; that we witnessed one of the most ruinously unbalanced displays of officiating that you could ever see. Where to even start? I won't, or this post will go on forever. This was refereeing for the Trump Era.

All that work, all that promise from the pool stages, all that optimism, gone in an 80-minute clusterfuck. Coming after the Treviso result, it means we've seen the Os' entire season unravel in the space of a week. "Heartbreaking" doesn't begin to cover it.

Don't get me wrong, the O's could and should still have won, but with a reffing display like that it's a good job Rugby isn't like golf or the EPCR switchboards would be jammed

Whilst the refs performance was bewildering and frustrating, a group of players and management of a professional club should have been able to take advantage of what was even at 15, a very average Stade Francais team.

Poor decision making and poor execution..the epitome of welsh rugby.

Agreed, I remember exactly that when the Ospreys returned to crazy Lyn after the grand slam of 2008.

Confirmed that it should have been red. How many times does this have to happen? So much rides on these games that IMO there is a case for altering the scoreline (and hence the result of a close game like this) post-match, otherwise there is no real punishment for the team - the result is an unjustice.

Crucial match was in the bag but thrown away. Ospreys will have to win away now, and that's assuming they actually finish in the last 4, they would have to win some matches to do that... something they've forgotten how to do.

They seem a bit lost since the six nations. Other teams suffer disruption so it can't just be that?

They're sorely missing AWJ's leadership and Arhip is a big loss, he's performed well in the loose and in the scrum. I personally would have started Ardron and perhaps Brad from the start, or at least one of them to add a bit of oomph to the O's second row.

At least they have the Blues next. Should beat them.

Utterly lost the plot. Webb doing his best to throw away his lions place, the Ospreys were hopeless until the much sharper Habberfield replaced him. Cardiff massively the better team today.

Just lucky that Ulster lost too, so the Os hang on in the top four. Not for long though if they continue in this clueless fashion.
