And 2 centres, at centre, I think. Doesn't seem fair does it.
They've been shite but they will obviously be targeting this game massively. Or can Grigg, Weir and Harley knock them back?

They had sportingly played guys ill equipped for their position at wing and full back in previous games. Seems unfair they change it for this game

Part of me is relishing watching Grigg knocking back Basteraud....

One of the outside centres in the squad has played him this year and done well and he's the one that Townsend definitely wont pick.

That’s more like it Monsieur Brunel! And a pair of Toulouse half backs that will ask serious questions of the Scottish defence!!! Dare I suggest a narrow win pour les Bleus?

I think many Scots, myself included, are predicting a France win. Our record over there is shite, we've got too many key players out and France look like they have finally got their shit together for this one. I can't see us winning another game in this tournament to be honest.

Just a narrow win?
We are missing as many as 8 potential starters; Nel, Gray, a whole back row, Russell, Jones and Hogg. That is all our main attacking talent and then some.
The French public should be expecting a lot more than a narrow win IMO.

A lot of rugby fans over here would be delighted with a win, irrespective of the margin! However, the one player you’ll need to shackle is Antoine Dupont. Give him space and the margin of victory will be significant!

Que sera sera. We are down to our bare bones. If we win hopefully one of the young ones has a break out performance but if we do win then the French players have some questions to answer.
A poster noted on another site, if you were to list the 7 or 8 most important players in the Scotland team only Rambo and maybe Laidlaw are still standing. It is not the number of injuries that are necessarily the issue, it is who is injured that is the bigger issue.

I’ve done an about turn.
Given the injuries to our most critical players I think we should just give it a lash and include Darcy Graham.
The back line could be:
Laidlaw
Horne
Maitland
Johnson
Harris
Seymour
Kinghorn
Which frankly looks horrific. We need some game breaking ability.

I think France will win but it could easily be a 10 point win for Scotland
Key part is can we generate enough time on the ball to release our backs
ANd then how does France respond to a bit of pressure
and more importantly can we stop giving them easy scores or scrums in our 22 with less than 10 to go

France do not deserve to win a game this year. Putting out fat cunts that haven't been coached is unacceptable. I hope you pump them.

I agree with you. Shame mini horne is still out, he also offers this.

I think this is the least optimistic about a game I've felt in quite a while. Weird in a way, as we just played Ireland away and it was far closer than the score suggests, imo. We created a whole bunch of chances, but it means absolutely fuck all if we're as bad at executing them again.
As shown above, we might not have anyone to create in the first place. Really banking on Johnson/Kinghorn sparking something or Horne having one of his very good days.

I think of the following and I'm ok:
Southwell
Danielli
Di Rollo
Henderson
Walker
Parks
Beveridge

Aye. Good point, well made. Getting my panties in a bunch a bit above but feckin annoying to see our team get decimated by injuries year after year.
Hope they give it a lash, just don’t think the likes of Harris/Grigg have a real point of difference at Test level.

Did we really play with 14 forwards and a goal-kicker back then?

I presume our team will be named tomorrow. To me the real question is who starts 13. I'd just about say Grigg. Aye, I dont think he's really top international level but I'd say the same about Harris and at least Grigg has an undoubted spark as well as a decent connection with the likely 10/12. More than ever this weekend I see our way to win as being to run them off their feet.
