Fickou back to the wing just looks a waste. Le Roux being back is good news though

Teddy Thomas is not an impact player from the bench. Either you start him or he's off the 23. France has better all-round wings, especially in defence.

Fickou is equally good on the wing and has been replaced at centre by the excellent Arthur Vincent.

And yes, Le Roux is a welcome return to the side.

Why? Seems like exactly the sort of player you’d want, particularly if you’ve got the lead and are chasing a big PD.

Also can’t believe Fickou is only 26.

And one of the oldest of the team...

I don't get either why Thomas would noir ne a good impact player ..

Thomas doesn't like it up him. He loses interest when it comes to a scrap.

There’s very valid reasons to not want to pick him, I just wasn’t sure why he’s a starter or nothing. He certainly makes an impact in one direction or the other.

Would have loved to see Dougal van der Merwe get a chance to run at him.

van der Merwe seems a little..."flat earth".

In fairness, that same madness worked against Wales. You can't turn it on and off.

A great 6N with matches won and lost in the closing minutes. The only down side for me was far too many cards shown by the refs largely due to players who are finding it difficult to adapt to the laws in the tackle and at the breakdown. I was rather disappointed with the French - particularly at Twickenham where Galthié made a gross error in not using all his bench in the last quarter. However, it’s a young team and this will have been good experience in their learning curve of Test match rugby.

Feels a bit like France have been worked out. They're still unstoppable in moments but other teams have got better at preventing them from being strung together. The next development stage will be interesting.

Overplaying is a better way to develop as a team than to underplay, so France have that. Fickou out to the wing was daft, who knew. Not sure about the French locks, Le Roux is good enough and then it's a bit hit and miss if not hit and card.
