South Africa in the Six Nations

An article in the Fail today suggests that this idea is gaining some traction. Whilst anything in the Fail needs a huge dose of salt, this theme has surfaced a few times and it would appear that CVC are up for it.
So what do we think? Clearly South Africa would be a much harder test than Italy are at the moment. But where would the Bokke be based, I can’t see hoards of travelling fans which would be a shame.
Equally, how much of a kick in the balls would it be for Italy, Georgia and the other European teams who have ambition. My gut feel is that the Six Nations is an European competition and if we wish to change things then it should be to the benefit of another European team.
But money talks.

I rather like the idea of a second tier European 6N with promotion and relegation which could inspire the likes of Georgia,Spain and Belgium to up their game and performance.
That would be my preference.

I think that an end of season play off between bottom of the 6N and top of second tier could be good. (OK, I am thinking it will always be Italy vs another.)

Would you hold the play off annually or every two years? The way the fixtures work, a newly promoted Georgia (for example) could have France, England and Ireland away only their first season which is a huge ask. Maybe give them 2 years and then space the qualifier match out to avoid RWCs and Lions Tours?

It's like 2010 all over again.
Saracens become Saffacens, SARU talks about joining the 6N, winter olympics year, major recession and tories set on austerity to screw the poor.

I have always wanted to see the relegation game with EU.2, I think it would be a nice money earner for the teams like Georgia even if they dont get in
Put SA in EU.2 and let them earn a promotion spot

Nah, make them start at the bottom. Finland would fancy a crack.
