Retired from all rugby.
Came back from France as a fantastic scrum half. Shame all the injuries meant he didn't get more caps, but at his best he was brilliant.
Going to drink whisky in California? There's his brains coming in to play, right there. Not for him a "family business" in the p155ing west of Scotland, no he's 'retiring' to drink whisky in the sun.
Good man.

Yup. Gutted we didn't get more from him but good luck to him. A lot of people would have given up a long time ago with his setbacks.
He should have had 100+ caps.

I thought something was amiss when he made himself unavailable for summer training. Best of luck to him.

In many ways he and Mike Blair were unlucky to be around at their peak years at same time.
Injuries probably meant he never really had an extended run at his absolute best but still had a very good career.
With a baby arriving last year during the RWC camp and moving to California it has been a pretty good 10-12 months for CC.
Gave his all in a blue shirt, sometimes causing himself injury, and as a fan we can't really ask for more.

Great player and one of the few who returned from the 05 Lions' tour to New Zealand with his reputation enhanced. Such a shame injury screwed around with his career, and, like Blair, he spent much of his time playing for poor Scottish sides where his talent struggled to shine.

I'd pay good money for either of them in their peak right now with this team.

Quite. I remember watching him make his mark in the AI's against Australia and he made three of four great breaks from deep to really announce himself. Always felt he was better when allowed to play his game rather than trying to stick to the script his coaches wanted.
