Ealing were knocked back in their bid for Premiership status, presumably because of their ground. Meanwhile, the URC have been informed and are onboard with the merger. It's all very confusing, but no doubt clarity will emerge in the fullness of time.

Think it’s the other way round, Trailfinders get a back door to the URC. Not seen any details on how this would work in practice.

They could call the new team "London Welsh" or something. Ooh, that sounds catchy.

Ealing knowingly submitted a bid that wouldn't pass muster. This maybe why.....

Must employ 13 Ospreys players. So the Ospreys disappear and it’s another player firestorm? Will thenWRU be giving the Ospreys money to Ealing now if this deal goes ahead?

Meanwhile on twitter Ospreys Director Robert Davies tweets re the breaking news Journalist Stefan Thomas aka Scarlet Nut

“Thomas inducing Moffat to write some garbage so he can put another dollop on top. Remember Thomas is a rabid Turk and writing his masters' lines.
He should concentrate on Scarlets financial problems and not spout rubbish to divert away from the truth - which he finds difficult”

BBC are reporting it doesn't have legs and the Telegraph is saying Ealing have approached a number of clubs

The Osprey owners have said it’s a flat no. Does look unlikely.
