This is what happens when you only have one reserve back and your kicker has an off day.

It's almost as if the boks are being pig headed by trying to.kick their way to victory despite an absence of kickers.

That stupid yellow light from the coaches in the stand is the signal to take the shot.

Especially when you have a tight pack and bench like that.

If Ireland can hang on here they will have deserved this win through sheer bloody minded defence.

South Africa need a better kicker to win the RWC.

Greatngame. Wouldn’t bet against these two teams contesting the final. Especially now France have lost Dupont.

Massive defensive effort from Ireland for most of the second half.

Boks reverting to type and having no real plan b once the sledgehammer isn't doing it.

Really fun to watch. I wonder what the damage report will be. That might be the big consequence.

1 - Zombie, cool.

2 - Grawp. Could someone from Ireland have a different haircut?

Huzzah!

Congratulations Ireland, brilliant match and deserved victors - and all with a malfunctioning lineout

That felt like the best match of the tournament.

Rassie is going to be apoplectic about that last maul call.

If I was Irish, I would be slightly worried that SA had so many chances to win that.

Yeah, they would have if they could kick straight. Can't get away with it at that level.

True but they need to get 80 mins out of mbonambi for France (bar Scotland beating Ireland)

That was a great game (though, as a Scotland fan absolutely gutted by the result, and that last call in the maul).

I think SA will now bring in Pollard, but Libock has the backs moving. Willemse was also great.

As for Ireland, they are so impressive in adversity. Line-out in bits, under all sorts of pressure, they just do enough. So hard to turn pressure into points against them, and then when they get it, they just settle into their patterns.

Aki is on fire at the moment too. Four years ago he looked old, fat, and slow.

Lowe's boot also makes a big difference. Just kills opposition momentum.
