CCS and Porter back is great news. This will be big tests for both of them. Marler and Care out with injury is massive too though.

The Bordeaux/Bègles team, notably without Matthieu Jalibert and Damian Penaud. Matéo Garcia at 10 had a very good match against Saracens last week so the B/B staff won't be worried including him again in the starting XV:

Le XV de départ de l’UBB : 15. Buros ; 14. Uberti, 13. Depoortere, 12. Moefana, 11. Bielle-Biarrey ; 10. Garcia, 9. Lucu (cap.) ; 7. Samu, 8. Tatafu, 6. Miquel ; 5. Coleman, 4. Cazeaux ; 3. Tameifuna, 2. Lamothe, 1. Kaulashvili.

16. Maynadier, 17. Boniface, 18. Sadie, 19. Douglas 20. Petti, 21. Vergnes-Taillefer, 22. Lesgourgues, 23. Tambwe.

No Penaud is a massive fillip for Quins - not like Bordeaux are short of good players even without him, but he's very likely the best winger on the planet right now, so he's always going to be missed.

Great to see CCS back.

Tough one to make your return in! Quite a test for Baxter. He's edging closer to touring in the sumer.

Even minus Penaud Bordeaux will surely be too strong.

Yep, Quins definitely can’t keep up the recent error count and get away with this one. It feels like we’ve had an awful lot of jammy wins recently and it’s flattered us slightly.

You'd've got fairly decent odds on that scoreline at halftime. Very, very, very far from done though - Quins are expert at throwing away a lead and you'd've thought Bordeaux's coaches will be emphasising a fresh start after halftime. The first score will be vital. Early Bordeaux try and I think it's game over - they'll run away with it. Quins score next, even just a penalty and I think Bordeaux might find their belief flagging with the crowd turning on them.

UBB are playing very open and it is suiting Quins down to the ground. They are really getting after the young UBB flyhalf as well. Porter looks very good at 9 and this sort of game is where Marcus will thrive, be interesting to see if he can switch gears and shut it down in the final quarter.

There's the early BB try - let's see if Quins can hold on. Bordeaux definitely have their tails up after half time

Baxter came through with flying colours and monstered the monster prop. Straight on to the England squad!

What an entertaining game! Quins were lucky in the end but so what. I really could not understand kicking for the corner when a tee shot would have restored the lead with about 10 minutes left.

How long until someone uses this against Smith for not managing the game?

I thought Smith was excellent. It was hard to criticise any individuals too much. Mistakes are inevitable in that sort of game.

Smith nearly cost Quins a win today.

How dare he go off with an injury

Quins inability to close the game down nearly cost them. It was open and end to end throughout. Quins had a good scrum and lineout/rolling maul there was things they could have done to take the pace out of the game a bit.

Hopefully nothing serious for Smith.

Magnificent, that's how to do it.

Not sure Smith can have been that bad, he didn't want to come off and was straight onto the pitch after.

How do you close down The Electric Matchstick et al? Quins played it right.

Play for territory try to pin them down in their own half. Quins played a lot of ball in hand with a healthy lead. Might be a bit boring but pin the opposition back and give Evans licence the attack every ruck.

As a game it was great for a neutral but it must have been nerve shredding for Quins fans and coaches.

Didn’t he just! But his all round play was top drawer! He’s really looking good!
