Yeah, pretty much a foregone conclusion as the bookies stopped taking bets on this a while back.

But is he the best coach for us, or the best who is willing to be considered?

Not hugely experienced at international level, although I really hope he cam turn us around.

I'm hoping that he'll be given a little time to mould the side and intergrate some of the younger players, but I somehow think that's unlikely to be the case, farply to him I wouldn't have touched the job with a barge pole given the resources he has available and the public expectation.

Who knows if he's the best choice? I'd have preferred someone with a bit more track record as head coach at a successful club (he did win the league with the Ospreys but that was a long time ago, pretty much in a different world). But he (and almost any Welsh coach) would be mad not to take this job - expectations are rock bottom, the pay is good, the resources, while not the best, are still tier 1 (ish).

He's got two years - I assume he'll be given free rein through to the world cup. Not expecting too many victories next season, hopefully things might start to work after that?

I had a bad feeling about Mallet-Head, a bad feeling about Bivouac, and a curiously optimistic feeling about Tandy. He's Welsh in tooth and claw. He won with the Os when they were robbed of half their team. The Jockoes highly regard him.
