Draw happening right now.

Challenge Cup:

Embra getting a pretty tough Pool 5 alongside Harlequins, Stade Francais and Timișoara Saracens from Romania.

Tasty pool 4 Cardiff, Bath, Bristol and Pau.

For the clubs I think there are different targets.

Embra should be focusing on the league IMO with key players being kept fresh for that.

Glasgow really need to start making an impact in Europe IMO.

From the players POV they need to perform in Europe for various reasons.

Edinburgh have a tough group, really? I can't see that many more favourable outcomes.

Glasgow are going to have a tough time. Lots of work needs to be done because all 3 teams are capable of crushing their pack. Racing and Leicester especially.

It just gets tougher year on year with the increasing spending power of the French and English teams meaning we can't compete for the best international talent.

I'll be very surprised if we make it out of that group.

We should have made better fist of last year's group with Scarlets and Northampton but we were kiboshe by the level of RWC squad involvement.

Not suggesting they should be romping the group or anything. But 2nd shouldn't be an unrealistic prospect for them. They have been one of the dominant forces in the Pro 12 for a while. There is no reason they shouldn't be looking at winning at least 4 games home and away to Munster, and at home to the other 2.

It will be tough but all targets should be.

Backpacked through there 22 years ago. Slept in Parque Centrale for a couple of nights and bought some vinegar thinking it was wine. Then the air raid sirens went off. The Balkans were an interesting place to go back then.

It must have been wild back then. I went backapcking though Transylvania 10 years ago myself and things were building up. Transylvanian cities were quite well developed but the villages were of another time. People were very friendly though, especially if you were French (surprising number of French speakers then).

I'm now based in Sofia, and Timisoara is now my closest venue for professional European Rugby.

Still figuring that out. ;) Currently working in sales.
My partner is Bulgarian and with a child, our lifestyle prospects(salary/cost of living, family support , sun...)seemed a bit better in Bulgaria. I also fancied a bit of an adventure. We moved over in April so i'm still adapting.

You familiar with Sofia?

Not really. I passed through there a summer or two ago during a road trip to the Bulgarian coast, but it has always been a bit far south for me. Struck me as a grand city, however.
