Been given the go ahead by world rugby..

A crap league with next to no away fans wants to have games on another continent? And that's okay? Really?

Keeps brand All Black strong, I suppose

Maybe people will be interested in this, but I have my doubts. Any news on whether those clubs would be admitted into the Euro Cups down the line?

I suppose one thing we could say is the flights to the east coast aren't really any worse than the flights to Romania would be. And in some comps we see some poor sods flying from Oz to Argentina or SA.

Ah, away fans. The holy grail of welshmen who have given up hope of their countrymen actually turning out to see their own teams.

One wonders how on earth World Rugby would have opposed such a move in a world where Super Rugby exists.

How the hell is this going to improve the quality of the league?

Wait, I can see it now. The US fans start pouring into South Wales. The Hoff was just the start of it.

If this suddenly increases the revenue available then fair enough. Otherwise, this is pointless.

Revenue isn't important. Tino Anyani said so the other day.

Good job as the league is worth a pittance according to Irish and Scottish broadcasters

With attitudes like that, how can the Pro 12 not prosper!!

Personally, I wish money wasn't at the root of our game, but the reality is that it is. Id like to think that our administrators understood that.

They do. Which is why he's looking at a new tv market.

Pretty hard to sell something when a casual google will alert potential buyers to the whine from wales and a quick look will show row upon row of empty seats in Wales.

The empty seats aren't limited to Wales are they?

I know it's shite, and me saying that it's shite on the Internet isn't why they can't sell TV rights. The fact that it's shite and broadcasters in Ireland and Scotland know it's shite so pay a pittance is why they can't sell it to new broadcasters.

A TV league which can't make any money by selling TV rights.

It's you lot and embra who have vast expanses of empty seats.

The quality of the rugby in the league is equal to the other major leagues. The quality of the supporters not so much.

Yet only Ulster Munster and Leinster average bigger crowds than any of our 4 and judgement day continues to break records for attendance year on year while Welsh broadcasters have brought in the majority of TV money historically.

European results in recent years seems to suggest the gap is widening.

What do you put the lack of TV money/sponsorship for the league down to? The unimportant and unheard of Welsh moaning about it?

This is the same league that produced HEC winners for several seasons. Arguably it should be hot property.

But it hasn't for a while.

It's not been that long, and I hope you aren't going to pretend that you weren't making the same complaints about the league 4 years ago.

Not at all. My opinions on it haven't changed much at all. It does nothing for me, though I admit having a season ticket is much better for generating interest in it than watching on TV.

All neutral refs this weekend too.

So why weren't better tv deals on the table then. We have been the poor relations for years.

Whilst the BBC route was never going to be a great income. Shame the Sky interest didn't come sooner.
