Dickinson
F Brown
Laidlaw

Roberts will be out for a while after the HIA issues, I reckon.

Quite right- this 6N is Ireland's to lose. Their squad is very settled.

Surely Tuilagi's going to be injured by then, and isn't MBrown supposed to be hurt?

Bastareaud is probably going to miss a fair chunk of the 6Ns too for being a bigoted shithead.

Heaslip and O'Brien are both out. In other years that would have been a disaster. Even Leinster have the depth to manage without them.

Mathieu Bastareaud in action during Toulon’s 36-0 defeat of Benetton on Sunday
The Toulon captain, Mathieu Bastareaud, could face a lengthy suspension after he was cited for alleged verbal abuse following television footage which appeared to show him uttering a homophobic slur at an opponent during his side’s Champions Cup win over Benetton.

In the final minute of Toulon’s 36-0 win on Sunday Bastareaud appeared to call Sebastian Negri a “fucking faggot”. The relevant World Rugby regulation states that “verbal abuse includes, but is not limited to abuse based on: religion, colour, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation”. The minimum ban for verbal abuse is six weeks – the maximum is 12 months – and so, if Bastareaud is sanctioned, his participation for France during the Six Nations would be placed in jeopardy.

Bastareuad took to Twitter on Sunday evening to apologise for what he described as his “reaction to the insults of the Italian player” and his “bad reaction in response to the provocation”. Soon after however, European Professional Club Rugby, the governing body that runs the Champions Cup, confirmed that Bastareaud had been cited and will face a disciplinary hearing this week. During the incident, Bastareaud appeared to react as if provoked so it remains to be seen if any Benetton players will also be sanctioned.

In March 2015 the Waratahs forward Jacques Potgieter was fined $20,000 by the Australian union for a homophobic slur in a Super Rugby match against the Brumbies after it was brought to the attention of officials by David Pocock.
Think it is more of a Case of Bastareaud not being able to fully comprehend what he is saying when speaking in English, and shouting out the fastest response possible. Not great, especially as he was coming back to some kind of form.

Yes.

Just from Scotland this wouldn’t be (the makings of) the worst team we’ve ever fielded.

1. Dickinson
2. Ford
3. Nel
4. TTRI
5. Swinson
6.
7. Brown
8. Wilson

9. Laidlaw
10.
11.
12. Scott
13. Dunbar
14.
15. Hogg

Fuck off with that shit, bro. There were multiple, equally quick responses he could have come up with, and most of them don't involve shouting a derogatory term at someone. Would you be so quick to minimise what he said if it were racial in nature?

If your response, when being told to watch a "fucking swinging arm," is to shout "fucking faggot" at the person, you're either a stupid, dumb shit idiot fucking lunkhead moron, or an immature teenage dipshit who needs to gain some perspective. Considering that Matty is pushing 30, what's his fucking excuse?

We agree. We also agree that when your team is 30 points there is no reason to get upset.

He will be sanctioned, I just believe the fact that he grew up without that as a "Nono" word should be taken into account. Yes when asked in a calm environment he knows what it means, but he has a limited insult stock when tensions go up.

Nah, there was an obvious attempt at minimising it. "Foreigners don't understand it when they use derogatory terms" is a shitty argument, and will always be a shitty argument.

That wasn't the arguement. Please re-read.
Never condoned his words. Just explaining why he would be more likely to say that. In the same way a white central European is more likely to say "my n*gga". Just not part of cultural "Nono" words. Stop being so high and mighty, no one is buying into it.
