Yeah - it was reckless at the absolute best. Definite yellow for me. Other than that, I thought Ross was excellent.

JCW also had a very good game.

Entertaining match, score never in doubt once Wasps strolled to an early lead. There was no way we wouldn't find a way to fekk that up. Ross caught the eye, as did Strauss. Little Faf's a gudun, Sale wanna hang on to him.
Because the base of the post counts as the tryline and when you're defending on your own line, you have to be behind the tryline. Ergo, if Gopperth (and Haskell before him) are standing in front of the post, then they are standing in an offside position and making a tackle. If they weren't there, then Sale would've been able to ground the ball at the foot of the post, which would've been a try.

All's well that ends well, but JP Doyle bottled it completely. It should've been two yellow cards and a penalty try. It would've been big, but both Haskell and Gopperth prevented tries from being scored with cynical play and one of them being yellowed should've been no bar to the other going.

Mind, I suspect the citing committee will hear more about that Sale headbutt, so everyone could feel a touch aggrieved.

Yeah I got the explanation offered by Healey, it was just that I thought the ruck and ball were a bit off the line thereby allowing Wasps to be in front of the tryline. What I should do is go back and watch it today instead of succumbing to ipad poking the previous evening when I've had a couple. Taking my tinted glasses off may also help of course, but I stand by my right to indulge in Saturday morning regret.

Sale were quietly impressive though and deserved the win.

Both sides gave it everything, physical yet plenty of skill on show. Really warming to Sale.
Am I right in saying that Sale have been buying some decent players for next season...?. I know that happened a few years ago but I could swear I'd seen news reports recently that featured some interesting names.

Lots of talk but only Joe Jones and James Phillips confirmed so far I think.

Ross, De Klerk and Strauss are certainly a step above a lot of our recruitment since JMFL. I'd put O'Conner in there too, but he's been a bit of a perma-crock.

Could do with another Hooker, Tight Head and a Quality 10 (like every team ever). plus we'll miss Haley at full back and Addison's ability to be anywhere from pretty decent to quite good from 12 outwards.

I find it impossible to warm to anything that a perennial victim obsessed arsehole as big as Steve Diamond has anything to do with, but they have signed some cracking players, and i’d happily swap all of Cip’s home vids of Kelly Brook for Faf de Klerk at Wasps.

O'Connor must be one of the prime examples of an outstanding, naturally-gifted player who utterly wasted his talents. He was brilliant as a teenager representing Austraila on the wing (his best slot I think) and you can still see his ability and class. If he'd kept on the same trajectory, and stayed away from off-field jinks, he would be one of the world's best backs now and an automatic selection for Oz. He's still only 27 - younger than Beale and Folau. I think with the right handling and with some gained maturity, he could still be world-class.

Haley cited for the smash that took Bassett out in the build up to the final try.

Was JCW cited for his refusal to pass off his left hand?

He apparently likes to think of himself as a ball player, so I'm sure if needed, it was pointed out to him.

it was around the half hour mark, maybe he got a shout to go back the other way, but Farrell might judge him for his 'switch' play. he's still good in contact mind
