Gutsy win by Ireland over a powerful Oz team who threw the sink at them. Fantastic defence. Nice to see Larmour step up at FB.

Fine, deserved win. Cracking series between 2 well matched sides. Ireland can be very pleased with a series win.

I have to say that while I sense it balanced out over the series, the refereeing in the 3 tests (And the 3 tests in New Zealand) was absolutely woeful. I know that young refs need to be blooded at this level in time to have a panel of sufficient size next summer, but the Walabies feel that the poor decisions went against them today and might have cost them the test and the series. This is only valid if you take today’s game in isolation and even then, there were calls that could have gone against them and did not. For the record I thought that Falau’s yellow was the correct decision - fair contest at first but the trailing arm that tipped POM was quite deliberate and worthy of the penalty and the card. The damage was bad enough, but had POM landed on his head it might have been catastrophic. I agree that the tackle on Sexton was massive and perfectly timed, but given that the ball was dead and so, apparently, was Sexton there was no harm in checking.

A good series with a series win that caps a superb season for the IRFU. It might have been a brilliant series but for the refs.

Ireland should have had 2 penalty tries for infringements feet from the Aussie tryline. First a player intervenes in an offside position and then a maul is pulled down.
Against that, Stockdale should have got a red for the elbow into Phipps head.
Reffing inconsistency, across the major series this summer, has been a troublesome issue.

It is one of the great losses to world rugby that Cheika never coached a test against Heneike Meyer. They could have just shown the coaches’ boxes for the whole match.
