Re: Six Nations Squad
Much as expected given the injuries. Was hoping Ellis Jenkins would have been fit enough to make the squad but his time will come.
Ireland at home could be a snorter for Pivac - perhaps the pivotal point in his Wales career.
I just pray we can confound the critics and bookies and start to get back to winning ways.

A few quirky selections there. I think it’s Pivac’s press conference in a minute or two...

Re: Six Nations Squad
Nothing hugely surprising given availability.
The first match day squad will be the real test point for what Privac wants to achieve.

Re: Six Nations Squad
Looks a bit threadbare at prop, given the injures to Rob Evans and Samson Lee. I would expect Wyn Jones and Tomas Francis to be the starting props v Ireland. Really pleased for Rhodri Jones, who has been playing well. I would prefer a Willgriff John type prop to Dillon Lewis, but John hasn’t been playing recently so fair enough.
Jake Ball is an interesting selection, as he is leaving Wales in the Summer and isn’t fit at present. Was definitely in good form pre injury and wouldn’t argue with his selection against Ireland if he is fit. Also, AWJ won’t have had any game time either.
Lydiate was a big surprise, I thought and I feel a bit sorry for Shane Lewis-Hughes. Lydiate is in from though, can’t argue with that.
Didn’t think that Webb would be dropped, although he looked short of pace at Christmas, especially when he didn’t go for the corner in the Dragons game. Not sure why Rhodri Williams never gets a look in.

Re: Six Nations Squad
Looks reasonable.
I'd have had Webb ahead of Hardy, but no worries, they're both excellent.
Nice to see Amos back.
Wish they could have found space for Protheroe. I'd have dropped Watkin, moved North to centre and called Protheroe up.

I guess with Protheroe, he plays in Wales so they don't feel the urgent need to cap(ture) him like they did with Lloyd.Son of Mathonwy wrote:Looks reasonable.

Re: Six Nations Squad
Protheroe's not qualified for England anymore anyway, AFAIK. He was only qualified on residency, which is gone now.Son of Mathonwy wrote:I guess with Protheroe, he plays in Wales so they don't feel the urgent need to cap(ture) him like they did with Lloyd.Son of Mathonwy wrote:Looks reasonable.

Agreed. He's a very talented player and he needs to show that at international level.Son of Mathonwy wrote:Looks reasonable.

Re: Six Nations Squad
I hope none of the Wales squad playing tonight gets a serious injury. They need to be carefully monitored and at the first sign of a twinge or a slight limp, haul them off. There’s too much at stake to lose players this close to the opener in a fortnight.

Re: Six Nations Squad
Cory Hill and Wyn Jones both off with injuries. Let’s hope Ospreys don’t lose anyone on Sunday.
