Cardiff extend their winning streak to 2
TBF to the Dragons they looked the better side for large parts of the game and dominated territory and possession. The main difference was Cardiff knew what to do with their possession.

The Dragons were a little hard done by the ref. Rhodri's yellow was harsh, and at least a couple of obvious high tackles were missed or ignored.
Hope Basham's injury isn't as bad as it looked.

Well done Cardiff, although I still think the ref was utterly shite.
Cardiff did have better composure and that made a big difference. We let you of the hook too easily too often.

I didn't think Rhodri's yellow was at all harsh. It was a stone cold yellow. He was on the floor and he tackled a player in a good position to score.Son of Mathonwy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 4:42 pm The Dragons were a little hard done by the ref. I thought he was in the process of falling to the floor - a 50-50 decision for me.UKHamlet wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 8:01 pmI didn't think Rhodri's yellow was at all harsh. It was a stone cold yellow. Neither Rhodri nor the tackled player were on the floor when the second tackle was made and there was plenty of cover. Not a yellow card. Dubious penalty.UKHamlet wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 8:01 pmI didn't think Rhodri's yellow was at all harsh. It was a stone cold yellow. He'd just tackled Willis, of course he was on the floor. And he never got to his feet, just launched himself forward to ankle tap Llewellyn.

That's about as yellow as the ref's jumper.

You can't see from the video if there was cover. There were two players running to intercept, but Max was hitting his straps by that time with no-one in front of him.

You may well be correct but I think I'd have to watch the slow-mo video from that angle to be sure. Either way it wouldn't have changed the result in the end, a clear win for Cardiff.

It probably wouldn’t have changed the result. But it still wasn’t a yellow. The Cardiff players knee hit the ground after releasing the ball so how is that still a tackle situation?Son of Mathonwy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 17, 2022 10:56 pm You may well be correct but I think I'd have to watch the slow-mo video from that angle to be sure. Re: Cardiff extend their winning streak to 2
I'm not sure how that is relevant, except to compound the offence with tackling someone without the ball.Sandydragon wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 8:08 amIt probably wouldn’t have changed the result. Re: Cardiff extend their winning streak to 2
I thought it was a yellow live, and the replays made me certain. I couldn't understand the commentators' complaints at all.
Granted, it was a very skillful bit of play, and if it had gone unnoticed, fair enough. The action was instinctive, probably any player would have done the same. But on review there can't be any serious doubt that the first tackle is complete and RW is out of the game. If he'd played the BALL from that position, no-one would argue that he had rights to do so.

Decent first half from Cardiff v the Stormers, though they look a bit soft defensively. Llewelyn and Grady are both great prospects but Cardiff ship tries when they play together.
Hope the 5 points from the 2 Priestland kicks that hit the post don’t come back to haunt them

Great kick from Priestland for the Harries try and conversion. Hopefully he has his kicking boots on now

Good turnover from Botham, having a good game. After shipping a second lineout drive try Cardiff lead by 5 with 25 minutes to go

Seatbelt tackle, penalty Stormers and they have a 5 metre lineout. They have driven over with some ease on previous occasions...

Stunning defence to hold it up over the line. Thomas Young, with Tomos Williams and Cabango helping.

Re: Cardiff extend their winning streak to 2
Driven over in about 3 seconds flat. Third try in almost identical circumstances. Why not put someone up to compete for the ball if you can’t deal with the drive ? 24 all, conversion missed. Scores still level with 18 minutes left

Re: Cardiff extend their winning streak to 2
Stormers offside chasing a kick and then a bit of the old backchat to the ref results in a penalty to Cardiff about 42 metres out. Priestland slots it and Cardiff lead by 3 with 10 to go. 27-24

Grady breaks a couple of tackles but drops it. Scrum Stormers just in their half, 8 to go

Eek. A kick through gathered by Ben Thomas who has time but slices his clearance. Lineout on the Cardiff 22
